5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of reproducible ideas for September., June 13, 2008
The book begins with a day-by-day list of all the celebrations throughout the month, and then a reproducible calendar for the classroom with clip art of symbols to place on the calendar.

September idea book contains reproducibles for the following topics: Back to school (with name tags, "welcome back" posters, student passes, behavior charts, word searches), All about me (contains a shape book, picture frame, writing prompts), All year round (bookmarks, awards, certificates, pencil toppers, bulletin board displays), Classroom birthdays (bookmarks, shape book, mobile, greeting cards), Apple time (Johnny Appleseed's reading and coloring pages, bookmark, apple mobile, apple shape book, apple puppet, writing paper), Mexican Independence Day (coloring pages, word search, a map, piñatas to make, a shape book) American Indian Day (map, word search, writing with pictograms, a research page, an Indian and his canoe) Grandparent's Day (card, puppets, quilt, coat of arms) and Substitute Forms.

All the books in the collection contain reproducible international children that can be used for multicultural bulletin boards. For this month, the kids featured are an Indian boy and an Indian Girl. And for every holiday, you will find not only lots of creative activities but also historical information to support the learning.

Great resources for the elementary teacher!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love them all!, January 28, 2009
This review is from: January Idea Book: A Creative Idea Book for the Elementary Teacher (Paperback)
I have the entire set of these books and love them all. The fact that everything is reprintable is such a valuable addition to any teachers library. So many books are offered like these, but when you get them they will have many pages in bold color which doesn't reprint with any kind of quality. These are clear, full size, and perfect for in-class worksheets. All kinds of great ideas to help you plan ahead of time and even covers the holidays that one might forget about until they are upon you and it's too late to squeeze into an already busy class curriculum. Highly Recommended!

The book begins with a day-by-day list of all the celebrations throughout the month (not only the famous ones but others as well...do you know when oil was discovered in Texas?), and then a reproducible calendar for the classroom with clip art of symbols to place on the calendar.

January idea book contains reproducibles for the following topics: Winter Activities (including a wordsearch, science experiments, a Math Snowman wheel, snowman patterns, bookmarks, pencil toppers, awards, certificates, etc), Around the Year (which contains a cut out desktop calendar to assemble, a shape book, monthly reports, monthly clip art), New Year's Day (a word search, a shape book, happy new year visor), Chinese New Year (a chinese zodiac poster, a fish-shaped kite, a board game, banner, tangram activities, lined paper, and more), Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (bulletin board displays, a mobile, a report form), Eskimos (word search, eskimo report, totem pole), and Arctic and Antarctic animals (puppets, stand-up figures, maps, booklets, lined paper, and more).

All the books in the collection contain reproducible international children that can be used for multicultural bulletin boards. For this month, the kids featured are an Eskimo boy and an Eskimo Girl, and a Chinese boy and a Chinese girl. And for every holiday, you will find not only lots of creative activities but also historical information to support the learning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Help!, June 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is exactly what it says it is, an "idea" book. All of the included decorations and activities are easily modified to suit any age child. I especially like how the book is broken up into units, with enough included that you are able to use any combination of the activities.
