This review is from: Japan Inc. Volume 2, Introduction to the Japanese Economy (Paperback)
An entertaining look at japanese economics of the 80's and a prescient view of current economics. Looking back through the lens of history, we know that many of the actions taken by the Japanese government drew out the length of their recession to over a decade. What amazes me is how closely the current US economic crisis is paralleling the Japanese economic crisis of the late 80's. On it's own it is a fascinating look at how Japanese business operates and how they perceive US actions in relation to their business tactics. When taken in context of the current economic crisis, it is essential reading for understanding the interplay that politics and business had in creating and potentially prolonging the current US recession.
