To supplement our history/geography lesson, our family watched this video compliments Amazon Prime. The second grader, the Kindergartener, and even preschooler were enchanted! A true test? Given a choice later in the day (non-school-time), the children chose to watch Little Travellers again instead of the usual Thomas the Train or Backyardigans.
The narration is in the children's voices, the activities are typical child activities, etc. but still easy on my adult ears. I learned just as much if not more than my kids did! My children were more engaged with this approach than any traditional travel or culture documentary. We are looking forward to exploring more countries with the Little Travellers - just wish there were more videos!

I've always wanted to visit Japan, but since the budget won't stretch to a trip there anytime soon I watched this video on an impulse. I thought it might be interesting to see Japan from a child's perspective. I found the two "stars" of the video to be charming and enthusiastic travelers. I particularly liked all the details of ordinary life in Japan - things that a conventional travel documentary probably wouldn't cover. I look forward to more trips with the little travelers.

My 6 year old really enjoyed it, and wants to watch another Little Travelers movie about another country. The pace is relaxed, and gives a great child centered perspective about a foreign country. I liked that the kids modeled trying food and then being allowed to spit it out when they didn't like it. My daughter thought it was really cool that they got to dress up in kimono and also feed monkeys.

My 15 year old grand daughter is going to Japan this summer. This video gave me the opportunity to preview her experience. She is going to love spending a month in this country whose inhabitants prize both beauty and technology.

Great addition for homeschool or just entertainment. Our 3 year old kept asking to go to Japan. Our 9 year old fashioned a kimono afterward and asked to make Japanese food for dinner. My husband looked at flight prices to Japan. Pretty sure this was a success. I did not find the narration annoying, nor did I think the girls were disrespectful. They are children from a different culture, and just that...children
Great video!!

My boys, 5 and 3, LOVED this! They learned a lot and they loved that it was from a kids perspective. It was a great supplement to our homeschool lesson on Japan!
