For $30 (what I paid on Amazon) this is one damn fine cast iron sukiyaki nabe (pan). At this price, I'm not certain that it's made in Japan as similar pans found in stores in Japan (I travel to Tokyo frequently) are often double or triple the price. Plus, there are no Kanji manufacturing marks anywhere on the pan. But don't let this deter you from purchasing. Will make excellent sukiyaki but be sure to season the pan so it becomes non-stick.

You can do this by coating the entire plan in cooking oil and putting in a hot 450 degree oven for 30 minutes, You may have to do this multiple times. And remember, never use soap to clean the pan. I use a generous amount of kosher salt, a few drops of water, and a wire brush to clean. By doing these steps you'll get a perfect non-stick pan where the beef will not stick to the surface of the pan.

Actual inside pan dimensions are 10 inches wide, and a little over 2 1/2 inches deep. Large enough to serve sukiyaki for 4 people, I would guess. As other reviewers have stated there are 4 footed "nubs" on the bottom of the pan but I don't think that it will effect cooking on an induction burner. Also, difficult to tell from the pictures on Amazon but the pan has two handles.

A definite recommended buy if you're interested in a good sized sukiyaki pan at a great price!

i know for this price, can not expect a Nambu cast iron made in Japan, still it will be nice to know where it is made. No where to be found. No brand either.

For this size, the pan is heavy. Handled other brands cast irons of similar size, this one is the heaviest. It gets the job done.

This is a nice cast iron pan, i was not sure it would work on an induction burner, because it has 4 little nubs on the bottom, but when I set it on the induction burner it heated up quite quickly, no error code, Sukiyaki time, Yakiniku too

Great choice exactly what we were looking for to cook Sukiyaki! The weight of the pan makes it stable on the hot plate.

This is a delightful product. It arrived today and this evening my daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous chicken sukiyaki prepared in it at the table. It was nicely seasoned on arrival and it's thick enough to heat evenly. Clean up was a breeze. It does its job perfectly. Pure happiness.
