This review is from: Japanese 35mm SLR Cameras: A Comprehensive Data Guide (Paperback)
I was a bit disappointed with this book. Although I didn't expect the authors to cover every Japanese camera ever made I did expect them to mention most of the better cameras from each maker. This was hit or miss.
The Mamiya / Sekor 35mm camera section was extremely bare. I own two old CWP Mamiya 35mm cameras and was hoping to find some information on the models in this book. Unfortunately this camera was given a pass by the authors. The Prismat PH and CPH also managed to go MIA not to mention a host of other Mamiya 35mm cameras. Is this enough to disappoint a reader? If you were a true collector I would have to say yes. There are other cameras missing in this book that you may have been expecting to make the pages. Also be aware that the information given about the cameras in this book is the bare basics. You can find most if not all of this information for free on the Internet.. |
