5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent Book, October 11, 2000
By A Customer
The book is Excellent. It is filled full of high color textures. This is one wonderful reference book for anyone interested in Japanese Architecture. The book is the closest thing to actually being in Japan and looking at the architecture on these buildings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reference Book on Japanese Architectural Detail, June 3, 2009
This review is from: Japanese Detail: Architecture (Paperback)
If you are interested in Japanese architecture, or are planning to add a Japanese detail to your home, this absolutely beautiful book is filled with great color photos illustrating many of the finer Japanese aesthetic qualities. The book is almost completely illustrative, and there is little in the way of actual description or commentary, however every photo is labeled and if you are already familiar with the subject it will help. There are a few b/w architectural schematics, but the majority is all color plates.

I bought this book at 10,000 Waves in Santa Fe, and am very satisfied with my purchase. My only complaint is the rather poor quality of the binding, which is beginning to come undone. Perhaps I have put the book through too much use? Nevertheless I highly recommend it.
