This is an excellent text for an advanced Japanese language student. It is small enough to fit into a purse, sufficiently lightweight that it doesn't add much to your book bag and offers text in English and Japanese side-by-side. It does not have furigana, which does make it a bit more difficult to read for the intermediate student. To effectively follow the text, you'll need to know at least the Jouyou kanji set.
