The small size does not do these pieces of art justice, May 2, 2008
This review is from: Japanese Flowers and Birds: 18 Art Stickers (Dover Art Stickers) (Paperback)
I liked the Japanese Prints Stickers, so I bought these as well.
Unfortunately, the small size did not do justice to these pieces of art work.
The images are on average 2.1"x1.5" in size.
With the white borders and titles at bottom, the average sticker size was 1.7"x2.5"
The images of the six scrolls were only .7"x2" (that does not include the white borders).
What I liked:
Three of the stickers because they were the right size and I liked the images.
They are acid free for scrapbooking.
What I did not like:
The same sticker with the kingfisher and irises that is blurry in the Japanese Prints is also blurry in this sticker collection.
The images of the longer scrolls were reduced in order to fit three in a row which reduces your ability to enjoy the piece of art or even know what the image is of.
Two of the images are of painted fans without their wooden handles, so it looks funny, so to use these images i may need to glue a handle so people know what they are.
I will need to cut off the white borders to look right in my scrapbook.
Overall, I figure I will use about half of the stickers... but I would have been much happier if the scrolls had been a more useful size.
They had some great images that you just cannot use that small.
