This contains a beautiful collection of photographs. I found it very useful for ideas for my own garden. I wouldn't recommend it as a first book for someone trying to create a garden as it give no explanation. If you just like looking at the gardens this is an excellent choice along with Japanese Gardens of the Modern Era by the same author.
