great book
lots of practice squares for learning the writing of the idividual hiragana.. then after learning a few you get to see and copy full sentences in hiragana.. this really helps.. i used this book together with Japanese Hiragana for Beginners: First Steps to Mastering the Japanese Writing System (Japanese Edition).. pretty much the whole second half of the book is...

For children only...
This book is boring and inelegant. Absolutely NOT for adults. I got to page 17 and couldn't stand it anymore.

lots of practice squares for learning the writing of the idividual hiragana.. then after learning a few you get to see and copy full sentences in hiragana.. this really helps.. i used this book together with Japanese Hiragana for Beginners: First Steps to Mastering the Japanese Writing System (Japanese Edition)..pretty much the whole second half of the book is practicing writing sentences and words.. it even has a section for onomatopoeia.. then there are pages in the back for practicing writing your own sentences
