I thought I would try this along with the
Japanese Sickle - Which I love.
This has an almost 90 degree bend, rather than the gentle curve of the sickle.
Some may like it, but I prefer the sickle as I can use it for a multitude of jobs.

I ordered three styles and have used all three and this is my absolute favorite. I keep it with me for making a quick job of cutting back small branches, out of control vines, and all those little trees the squirrels plant and forget about where they left them. I've gardened all my life and seldom find anything new that impresses me, but this is one of those things.

have cat tails in pond have tall ornamental grass with stout stems - both need to be cut close for winter on the frozen tundra - perfect for the job - grab a hank and ZIP it's loose

I Recommend a adding friction tape or a wiping to the handle for larger hands. Get a weed eater noise out of your life. Great for close in work.

I have had over time maybe six of these sickles. I keep loosing them in the greenery and otherwise, but for a very reasonable price buy one or two more! Two handle pruning "sheers" may be neater, but these sickles are way faster and adaptable to all kinds of tasks, even being able to cut through branches up to the size of pencils.

These make weeding and gardening so much easier - I really don't know how anyone goes without them! I haven't seen them locally here in Colorado so thank goodness for Amazon where I can buy them at a great price!
