5.0 out of 5 stars A durnt fine opus!!!!
Well i'm 14 and i think this is a great novel, that i was intially forced to read for an english project....The characters were complex, but Milliron did an exceptional job of describing the life of the main characters and their lives in futureworld Naboo. and it's pathetic to see so many people my ages who 'don't understand'...why because it's 'sooooo boring'..gimme a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Miserable
This book is inane and foolish. My toddler got bored with it in about half an hour and never went back. The computer-generated nature of Jar Jar makes him hard to color in, and most of the pictures are boring and unenlightened. It's not worth looking at, let alone coloring in.

I loved the part where Jar Jar had his duodenal ulcer operated on.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like Binks! He's neat!, June 21, 1999

This review is from: Jar Jar Binks (Star Wars - Novelty Shape Books, 1) (Board book)
This is a wonderful book for the kids! Jar Jar is certainly the star of the new Star Wars movie. What I like about this book is the way it foreshadows the sequel to the Phantom Menace. In the sequel, Jar Jar's true identity will be revealed -- that of a Jedi Council "Quality Assurance" agent sent around to clandestinely appraise the skills and scruples of potential renegade Jedi knights. We'll see Jar Jar's considerable duelling skills in his light-sabre sparring session with Mace Windu. He'll gracefully parry each and every attempted smote by the formidable Windu, and effortlessly execute a triple pike somersault over the bald black Jedi before kicking him in the gonads with his heel, confiscating his sabre, and making him beg and yelp for mercy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jar Jar was really cool! I liked this book!, June 17, 1999

This review is from: Jar Jar Binks (Star Wars - Novelty Shape Books, 1) (Board book)
Jar Jar Binks is a member of the Gungan species native to Naboo. Naboo is a small green planet that is home to both the Naboo and the Gungans. The seemingly innocent Jar Jar binks is actually a violent, aggressive, maniacal Sith Apprentice. His Sith name is Darth A-Noying, and he was sent prior to Darth Maul to disrupt, spy on, and track the movements of the Jedi during their attempts to solve the Trade Federation problem. This book shows the training session between Darth Maul and Jar Jar prior to their mission... and the true evil inside of Jar Jar: Darth Maul attacks Jar Jar first during the session. Maul is in for a horrible surprise.Showing effortless skill, Jar Jar does a reverse block, easily stopping the double-bladed saber. With glowing rage, Jar Jar strikes Maul in the face with the end of his staff. The training session should be over, but...Jar Jar does not stop there. Consumed by anger, he knocks Maul to the ground. Here, in a rare display, we see Maul beg Jar Jar to stop.

I really like Jar Jar. He's funny. I think I'm going to like the movie because I like this book. The man who wrote this book must have a lot of children, and I bet he knows what they like. I came from India and I think that people there would like this book too.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a self-help book, not a kid's book, August 10, 1999

I am so thrilled at the difference reading this book has made in my life. I have learned the key to finding true happiness and joy for myself. The information in this book could make a dramatic diference in everyone's life. I strongly support the amazing concept of Inner Bonding as described by Jar Jar Binks in this book, it works!

2.0 out of 5 stars Book Padded with fake reviews, July 11, 1999

This review is from: Jar Jar Binks (Star Wars - Novelty Shape Books, 1) (Board book)
It seems as tho the illustrator padded his book with glowing reviews, the style of writing and the cute comments are reflected in his own autobiographical sketch under the illustration bio. Anyone from Harvard.edu would know how to correctly spell Massachusetts. and then some address from cheddar on westgate or something like that? not at all serious. which is fine, but Don't anyone be fooled that these are real customer reviews.

4.0 out of 5 stars This was a cute kids book., June 28, 1999

Kerry Milliron is definitely a budding star of Children's Book illustration. Her writing is pretty decent, too. This book was interesting in the way that it augments the storyline from "The Phantom Menace." There is nothing contradictory, there is some overlap, yet there is also plenty of original material that builds upon the character of Jar Jar that was developed by Lucas. In this book, for instance, we get a truer understanding of Jar Jar's relationship with Liam Neeson. Phallic symbols abound. And you thought that the "Light Sabre" was just a metaphor for the light of the god! Jar Jar and Qui Gonn actually have a relationship modeled after the old Spartan soldier-youth mentor relationship. Qui Gonn not only schools Jar Jar in the military arts; he also serves as an instructor in the ways of man-on-man venery. The tears shed when Jar Jar graduates on from Qui Gonn's tutelage indicate that the physical relationship that had formed between the Jedi and the Gungan had evolved into one of true love.
