5.0 out of 5 stars These have geen great for my Asthma and Allergies
I have asthma and allergies. Regular fire logs put of fumes that most people don't seem to notice but that trigger asthma attacks in me. And regular wood has so much more particulate matter in the air that it leads to allergy and asthma problems. But with these Java Logs I haven't had any problems! They also smell better than other fire logs --- not like coffee but...

2.0 out of 5 stars Smelly
While the idea of this product is great, the smell is quite strong and off-putting.

And regular wood has so much more particulate matter in the air that it leads to allergy and asthma problems. But with these Java Logs I haven't had any problems! They also smell better than other fire logs --- not like coffee but just CLEAN. They last longer. Burn hotter. And are easy to clean up without leaving that ashtray smell that some wood can.

The only drawback is that they are more expensive. DO NOT BUY THEM HERE. I thought I'd be able to get them cheaper by the case from Amazon but they are still cheaper in my local Raley's supermarket by the case or individually!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product & Better for the Environment, November 4, 2007
I love these fireplace logs! They work well and last about 3 hours. I love that they burn cleaner than wood and many other fireplace logs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aaahhh...cleaner air...No Fumes!, March 1, 2008
At last, I've finally found something to burn in the fireplace that let's me thoroughly enjoy having one. It burns clean...no fumes to smell, and it flames beautifully. A gentle crackling fire....with no headaches or eye irritation. Our fires last about 3 1/2 hours or so...that's including when it gets down to the glowing embers. I bought a case of 6 at Wholefoods market ($23 or 24). It is worth paying the extra 4 or 5 bucks for our family to breathe easier. We feel better knowing it is better for the environment and that the product recycles used coffee grounds. We don't smell coffee when it's burning...we don't really smell anything...which is just fine with us!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and better for the environment - find cheaper locally, November 20, 2009
This review is from: Jarden Firelog 41525-05000 "Java-log" Fireplace Logs Six 5 Lb (Misc.)
Amazon's price is high. You can usually find these at a normal price of $20 for a box of 6 5lb logs and less than that on sale at your local store (mine is Fred Meyer in the NW).

These are nice logs though. They don't pollute the house as much. They have a nice sweet smell. They don't smell like coffee (too bad).

I find one 5lb log is warming for about 1.0-1.5 hours, then the heat drops down somewhat. I like to add a 3lb log to a single 5lb log fire about 2 hours into it. This keeps the heat going most of the evening.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect, engineered, firelog, November 28, 2008
By
This firelog is as good if not better then the other similar types of engineered wood product logs but they are made from more sustainable materials and don't put out the slight, odd chemical odor that Duraflame and Pine Mountain logs do. They don't smell like coffee but do have a slightly sweet aroma. Mostly though they burn clean and for 1-3 hours depending on your fireplace. They light every time and I don't have anything bad to say about them.
