A interesting psychological dive into the mind of a young soldier during first gulf war, Similar to Generation Kill.,

First things first: this is not a fast paced war movie. There is little action and the majority of the film is dialog. If youre looking for a bluray war movie to show off your sound system, this is definitely not it.
Having said that, this is was a very interesting, to me, movie. It focuses on 2 young snipers during the first gulf war. The movie depicts the tensions, anxiety, courage and patriotism (or lack thereof) in young, intelligent pair of soldiers during the first major US conflict/war in almost 2 decades. I dont want to give too much away, but would like to say that the movie itself is beautiful (as beautiful as shots of the desert can be). The writing is spot on and it exemplifies rather well the feeling of the first gulf war. This is similar to Generation Kill, but like i said, there isnt much action. I would recommend it to intelligent people interested in seeing war from the soldier's point of view, not Micheal Bay's |
