I tried splitting these in half to make them easier to swallow.

It is good for liver and lung health and, back in the day, some doctors used to give it as part of the patient's regimen for lung support.

N-acetylcysteine is such a good supplement. It is good for liver and lung health and, back in the day, some doctors used to give it as part of the patient's regimen for lung support. Highly recommended if you have asthma.

I am looking to try this product and since at least one person mentioned the corn issue I have sent a message to Jarrow to ask if it contains corn. This is a must for me since my asthma contains a corn trigger. I will change this rating once I can try the product and find out if it will help me.

For the person who mentioned foggy brain syndrome, I have gotten a good response from taking Jarrow N-acetyl Tyrosine (does not say no corn but I have not had a reaction). It is the enzyme that assists with dopamine production assisting with relief of depression and parkinson type of symptoms. It supports brain function by supporting the neuraltransmitters. I do not seem so forgetful since I started taking this.

I just heard back from Jarrow and this product does not contain corn. I am ordering now so hopefully this will help me. I will post again once I know if this is helpful.

Wow....amazing difference. After taking this for some months, I am using a lot less asthma medicine. I am down to 1 main medicine and the emergency inhaler a few times a month. I am so happy with this product. This will stay for awhile. I am not sure why my system is not making this enzyme but until it does I will use this product.

I purchased this several months ago to aid in the detox of my liver. In my research, I read where this could help with detox and also as a sleep aid. It definitely helps with sleep as long as I take it very early in the evening (about 5:30-6:00p.m.) on an empty stomach or not. If I take it any later than that, I end up oversleeping in the morning by about 1 1/2 hours. I find it hard to open my eyes and get moving. Yet, taking it earlier keeps that from happening and then I can go about my day without any grogginess.

Last month I spent a week in New Orleans and really over drank the mint juleps one day. Probably totaled 7 drinks in the course of the afternoon and evening. Well, when I woke in the early morning hours, the whole room was rolling!! Bad!! I used to take a homeopathic called Nux Vomica, that would usually help hangover symptoms. But I didn't bring it with me this time. I wracked my brain to figure out what I could do for myself and remembered reading that NAC can help with overindulgence in food or alcohol because it detoxes the liver. I took a capsule and laid back down till morning. I am absolutely amazed!! It was as if I had never had a drink and I was not nauseated, dizzy or anything!! Just another normal day! So, I am sold on that part.

I've also read that if NAC is taken at the first signs of a cold, etc. that it will prevent the sickness from coming on. I haven't personally tried it for this, but if I get a sniffle, this will be the first thing I try.

THE BAD: Jarrow NAC does not claim to be free of corn. It is my fault for not catching this before I ordered. Since the overwhelming majority of corn is GMO, and many GMO products have been known to contribute or even cause gut damage, I will be looking for another source of NAC the next time I order. But by all means, if you think you are immune to the effects of GMO products, and continue to worship at the alter of Monsanto, feel free to order Jarrow NAC.

THE GOOD: This is the second NAC product I've ever used...and it does work well (potency wise). I'm using it for leaky gut, and it will take some time to gauge the result. I've been taking Jarrow NAC for only about a week now. However, I have noticed some immediate effects: Just five minutes after taking just one capsule (dissolved in water beforehand) on a completely empty stomach, I notice my eyeballs becoming more moist and soothed (completely unexpected). After thirty minutes I notice the same moist, soothing effect in my lungs (I am asthmatic) which results in using my rescue inhaler less often. I've also experienced an increase in mental clarity that lasts about half of the day - until the next dose. Also I've noticed a DEFINITE, PROFOUND increase in muscle endurance throughout the day (my muscles would burn after only minutes or even seconds of moderate activity, I didn't realize how bad off I was until this symptom dissipated.) So far I can't say it cures leaky gut, but it MOST DEFINITELY helps with the symptoms...better than anything I've tried to date (large doses of chlorella helped my leaky gut symptoms but not as profound as NAC.) I've also noticed even more relief with a higher dose. Right now I'm at one and a half caps (750 mg) twice daily on an empty stomach.

I personally like the 600 mg better because they have no smell what so ever! But the smell of these doesn't transfer to your mouth and isn't unpleasant while swallowing! I haven't had to use my inhaler for months! I have been an asthmatic since I was 3 and I am now 42! I will always take NAC from this point forward. I am shocked by how infrequent my asthma attacks are!
