Good rating by Consumer Labs, and it seems to work for me.

Pantethine is an active form of vitamin B5 that has been shown to lower cholesterol more than cholesterol lowering medications without ANY significant side-effects.

If you've got any kind of adrenal fatigue or dysfunction (let's face it - this day in age, who doesn't?), I highly recommend this product. I take 1 softgel with breakfast and a second with dinner. This is the active form of pantethenic acid, or vitamin B-5, which is crucial for adrenal function. Delivered to your body in the active form, the body does not need to undergo enzymatic reactions to convert inactive pantethenic acid to active pantethine. I figure in my condition (having a chronic illness), any step I can take to conserve energy use is a good thing. In general, I feel less fatigued taking this product along with Source Naturals Coenzymate B Complex Peppermint, 120 Tablets. I also take Country Life P-5-P (Pyridoxal Phosphate) 50 mg, 100-Count, Methyl Mate (an active form of vitamin B-12), and ActiFolate®. Using all of these supplements in their active forms has been very nourishing to my tired adrenals. They have definitely gotten much stronger in the last few months and I no longer suffer daily adrenal crashes as I used to.

I have a history of high cholesterol, high triglycerides, high LDL and low HDLs. I started taking 900mg of pantethine daily and my numbers got dramatically better! I mean within 3 months! Then I would go a few months without pantethine and they'd go right back up! This just happened to me as I had my cholesterol checked a month ago. Everything was high, Ts 450 and total C was 260 or thereabouts. I told my doctor that it was my diet, let me try again in a month and a month later my Ts are down to 250 (still high I know) and my total C is 198. My HDLs and LDLs also improved and are better than ever and in the "recommended" range! I just have to learn that when I run out, I need to order more as pantethine really does work. I am really sold on this product and will continue to take it for the conceivable future.

I've just finished doing a ton of research on pantethine and am convinced that this will help lower my high triglycerides, so I'm going to order the Jarrow Formulas brand.

I just wanted to pass on a tidbit for those who may not have learned this: It is important to remember that PANTETHINE has been shown to lower cholesterol, and NOT, repeat NOT pantothenic acid.

Don't be fooled into buying the much cheaper pantothenic acid products for lowering cholesterol, since that's the wrong one. Buy PANTETHINE!

Pantethine raises coenzyme-a, which in turn helps with lipid metabolism. Therefore, you will have less oily skin and your acne will be reduced. 900mg of this per day along with pantothenic acid has greatly improved my severe acne.

I had been taking 2 of these a day for the last 3 months, and when I had my triglycerides measured it had gone down by 60mg/dL into the normal range (131) from a previous borderline high (195). My total cholesterol also dropped by 40mg/dL to 186 mg/dL (previously 227). My triglycerides were not this low when I was 30 years younger.
Unfortunately after taking this for about 5 months (2 moths after my initial review, I developed muscle pains in my legs. I stopped taking them and the pains have started to go away. Not sure if like with a a statin this jsut happens to a select subset of people that that take it.

Pantethine is an active form of vitamin B5 that has been shown to lower cholesterol more than cholesterol lowering medications without ANY significant side-effects.

"In multiple clinical trials of patients with elevated cholesterol and triglycerides, total and LDL cholesterol were decreased by 12%, triglycerides decreased by 18%, and HDL cholesterol was increased by 9%. These clinical trials were conducted with daily intakes ranging from 600 to 1200 mg/day. Within this dose range there is no evidence of a dose-effect relationship, i.e. changes in lipid concentrations overlapped across the range of doses. Direct dose-response evidence is not available because no trial tested more than one dose. A few trials tested 300 mg/day with more modest but still statistically significant results."
