5.0 out of 5 stars An antiinflammatory that really works!
My legs have ached nearly every day for so long I can't remember when it started. I have been to the doctor and I've tried all sorts of things. Before this the only thing that really worked was Lortab, which only masks the pain.

It took a month, but I finally stopped aching! I've been taking 2 500mg/day for a year now and am virtually ache free! This is...

3.0 out of 5 stars No improvement yet
I was really hoping this would help with my allergies for me and my daughter, and joint pain for me. I had a CAM doctor recommend it once and forgot about it until seeing some of the reviews online. We have been using for at least two weeks, and no improvemnt. I also took stinging nettle which was highly reviewed for allergy relief and recommended by a health dr. guru...

If you Google it, you'll find other benefits as well.

AllStarHealth.com also the best price I found on Quercetin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Helps with nasal congestion, May 31, 2009

Bought this product about 3 months ago with the hopes of improving my nasal congestion and eye itchiness. Wasn't sure the quercetin was helping ... until I forgot to take it one day! Now definitely know that it helps! Would recommend to try for anyone who is bothered by post nasal drip, nasal congestion or runny nose RELATED to allergies. Have not noticed any improvement in energy levels ... and I DID catch the last cold that was going around at work, but didn't seem to last me as long as some of my coworkers.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome, March 25, 2009

This is my second bottle. I'm in college with seven roommates, and I've been able to avoid many, many colds that went around the house with help from quercetin supplements. In fact, I haven't been sick at all since I've been on it, whereas usually during the winter I'm very prone to sore throats and nasal congestion. With so many benefits, I don't see why not to take quercetin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Probable affect on oral contraceptive, March 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have only taken this product for a few days, but I am finding that it seems to be affecting the absorption of my birth control pill (unusual spotting). I looked on WebMD and it said that quercetin may have an affect on medications changed by the liver, and estrogen is listed as one of them. Ethinyl estradiol is an estrogen found in many birth control pills.

Otherwise, no general complaints.

4.0 out of 5 stars Please read this BEFORE you read Alexander J. Macioce's 1 star review, June 13, 2010
This seems to be a good substance. I believe the FDA still finds this substance has no good or bad effects. Of course the FDA has the morals of slime and if a buck can't be made by someone they are not interested, and if you can get a natural source better than pills, again no comment. Actually the FDA is currently working on regulating vitamins and supplements. Big pharma pays the FDA well. Personally, I like this product, I need to know more about quercetin dosing, and the price is very good.

Non the less, this from NATURALNEWS dot com: But now University of Michigan at Ann Arbor scientists have found that a natural substance, the flavonoid quercetin, puts the brakes on the ability of RV to replicate. It also fights inflammation. According to their research just presented at the American Thoracic Society (ATS) 2010 International Conference held in New Orleans, quercetin could be a treatment for rhinovirus-caused infections and could be particularly beneficial for people with serious underlying chronic lung diseases.

I do not know what the effective dose is, but an internet search and a look at natural news archives, it looks like green/black tea has vast stores of Quercetin on a per kilogram basis.
something on the order of 2300mg per kg or 1045 mg per pound. Onion and other sources like berries about 65 mg per kg of berry, and berries weigh more than tea leaves. Obviously you do not use kilograms of tea leaves so they are potent. It looks like the chinese tea leave from the plant Camelia Sinensis is a great source, I am currently looking up plants/seeds. Outdoor zone 7,8,9 look good for outdoor, anywhere indoor, about 3 metre bush/plant, takes up to 1-3 yrs to start harvesting the leaves, easy to make, store in dark sealed container. Do your own research on the plants/growing/tea making. Plants seem to be around 7-35 dollars delivered, seeds about a buck a piece. If you can get a mature plant with leaves ready for the plucking, (a certain part of the plant 7-10 times per year) you can get to brewing right away.

Now on to the ONE STAR WONDER report by possibly self serving Alexander J. Macioce's. I went to the site mentioned. Looks like a good product, actually 3 products together including 100 mg of Quercetin.
The AMAZING DISCOUNT CODE gives you the massive discount of 1 percent on a 230 dollar order including S@H (6 month supply). My guess is the"discount code" is actually a vendor's code hawking the product so they can get a commission. Since this discount is ridiculous, I believe the code is for applying the commission If my suspicion is true, Shame on Alex for one starring a product that gives 5 times the mg of quercetin for 15 bucks and trying to get a commission on an amazon review. Kind of LOW I would say if this is the case. I truly hope it is not and 'Alex is just a concerned soul and believes the web site he is pushing has a product with superior and proven bioavailability. Their product, 100 mg by my recent research would come from 43 grams of tea leaves or about 1.5 ounces of tea leaves. 500 mg seems better if it is just as bio available.

Then again, the substance from the red grapes (reverstol or something like that) and quercetin seem best obtained from getting genuine green tea and red grapes (its the skin that has most of the reverstol). The absolute best source I have found personally is the book "The World's Healthiest foods" by George Mateljan for about 26.00. I got one years ago. My mother in law just "leafed" through it (pardon the pun). She loved it and I ordered her a copy. This is a bible of nutrient facts and much more. (though it does not have much on green tea and quercetin) . The man has a website dedicated to good health through eating properly. And he does not try to sell you expensive supplements. He just tells you how and when to buy fish, vegetables, tea, fruits, etc, how to cook them to get the best nutrient value, how to store them, and most importantly, either looking at the item , such as spinach, or by looking up the nutrient, such as manganese, or iron, you can find the best source of a certain nutrient and he further puts it into a 'DENSITY" measurement, so for instance parsely is an excellent source of vit K, C, and A, gives the percentage daily allowance, and density. Furthermore the book gives info on when and where to look out for pesticides, and mercury in fish (plus wild vs farm raised fish) and a section on individual health issues, ie diabetes, prostate, cardiac etc. There are recipes interspersed. The cover is designed to be somewhat resistant to spills so it is a book that can be right in the kitchen with you. Happy cooking and good health to everyone!

PS I am not making a commission on this book, or green tea, or grapes and I have no discount codes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hay-fever Savior, December 6, 2010
I live in Portland, Oregon where spring hits us hard with pollen so that those of us who suffer from hay-fever have several uncomfortable months. I have used anti-histamines but usually avoid them because they make me feel weird and I know that over time they end up worsening my allergic reaction. I've tried other natural supplements that were supposed to ease my allergic reaction (nasal congestion, sinus headaches, itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose, brain fog etc) but none of them really did much. A naturopath recommended this product to me last spring and it was amazing. I took two a day. On the first day my allergies were noticeably improved. By the second day they were practically non-existant. I continued taking it as needed depending on pollen counts through the spring, summer and even into fall. (Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't always rain here.)

I haven't noticed any adverse side effects. It's improved my quality of life. On sunny days I used to shy away from any green area, whether it be a yard, park or even just a city block with foliage. Even with this, my allergies were so bad that just sitting in my apartment with the windows closed would still make high-pollen days miserable for me. Going out to my car is always a debate whether it's worth risking an allergic reaction. With Quercetin I can do all of these things comfortably.

I haven't tested a full out venture into nature, nor am I likely to, but it's given me back my freedom to do whatever I'd like in the city without having to worry about hay-fever.

5.0 out of 5 stars wish i had known about quercetin earlier!, September 20, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
i've had eczema most of my life and it recently got pretty bad on my arms. I bought some FRS energy drinks that has quercetin as a natural energy booster, so I did more research on it and decided to buy the supplement. I took 1 500mg pill a day and used cetaphil and hydrocortisone... in about a week all the eczema was gone! I've used every cream available and I never saw it clear up so fast! I highly recommend it for anyone for its health benefits.

This stuff really works for nasal allergy symptoms. I have tried the NOW brand but it was not nearly as effective as this brand. I highly recommend this for people suffering with seasonal allergies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Allergy Medication, January 24, 2011

This review is from: Jarrow Formulas Quercetin 500mg, 200 Capsules (Health and Beauty)
I have nothing but rave reviews for this product. I take 2 pills a day and I don't have a problem with allergies any longer. Sometimes if the air is really dry and I'm sneezing a lot or I'm around pets, I take 4 pills a day. A friend's holistic doctor recommended this treatment for allergies. It takes a while to build up in your system, but once you've been taking it for a while, you'll really notice a difference!
