This product reads your cards very well, uploads quickly ... but is poorly constructed. The cheap metal & plastic wear very quickly.

This card reader is not the most solid, robust piece of gear, but I got it for occasional use on the road, carried in my laptop bag. For that purpose it has served me well -- it's still working fine after six months. And I have no reason to suspect that it will not keep working for the life of my laptop.

This item is contructed mainly of plastic which will wear and breakdown at some point. When plugged into the USB port it is kind of loose which might result in problems with the port or the reader.
The cable makes it a bit easier, but over all this unit is not that durable.
It does read my CF II cards but it does not read my hitachi microdrives (1 gig or 2 gig) so beware!

It feels plasticky and not very strong but so far it is holding OK and doing what it is supposed to do. I think that with normal care it should hold well in one piece. It comes with a cable that adds to the versatility of the unit. I would recommend it.

When I first got this, I was very impressed. Simple to install, easy to use, and very
inexpensive! But... on about my third use, I accidentally jammed my camera card in
there incorrectly. It missed the electrical connector and slid too far in! I couldn't
get it out, but my DH managed to get it out. After that, putting it in carefully to
ensure that it seats correctly has worked.

I use this to download jpgs from an older camera. Works just fine. Just plugged it in and moved the files. No hassle, no hiccups, no long wait.

Had a PQI reader just like it which I lost, got this one. It fell apart after a week. I took it apart and fixed it, but it still reads very SLOW, about 1/10 of the speed of the PQI. The card DOES fit well inside of the reader, well at least before it got stuck inside of it. I give up on readers unless I can find another PQI...Ill just use the cable for photo transfers....HD Tach reported a tranfer rate of 2.8 Mbps with th PQI showing 11 Mbps on same USB port. Not worth sending back, let alone dealing with Amazon.com with returns.

As easy as 123, plug in and transfer - I am using a macbook pro.

I purchased the Ge Jasho 9930 flash/Microdrive card reader and I love it. It is light and easy to carry in my camera bags. Ready to just take out and load to my computer without a damn cord. I just purchased it so I don't know how it will hold up over time.
