5.0 out of 5 stars Edgar Winter at his Best!, December 5, 2003
This review is from: Jasmine Nightdreams (Audio CD)
This is one of the best Edgar Winter offerings ever. Every song is a winner.
One Day Tomorrow may be the best Edgar song of all time, listen to the groove of Little Brother, the slide playing of Johnny Winter on Shuffle Low is excellent. Every song is nearly or truly a masterpiece. The work of Rick Derringer and Dan Hartman on the album is very noticeable as they make a great supporting cast for Edgar.
Also check out Sky Train as it takes you on a ride through the Jasmine Nightdream!

2.0 out of 5 stars Keep looking - the original stereo version is now on CD!, January 5, 2003

I have to agree with some of the other reviews here. I'd be willing to bet this is the old quad mix, as others have suggested (this album was released in the heyday of quadraphonic sound back in the 70s), so it still has some value to hardcore Edgar fans (like me). But beyond that, this 5.1 (4.0?) mix is a disappointing version of an otherwise classic recording.

But the good news is, the original stereo version is now available right here at Amazon.com (among other places) as a Japanese import from Sony Music, and it sounds wonderful! Woo Hoo! So keep searching (ASIN: B00005ULH5) - it's here somewhere, and it's worth the search! What a great album.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of my all-time favorites., September 19, 2005
This review is from: Jasmine Nightdreams (Audio CD)
I have loved this album since the first time I heard it as a teenager in the 70's. It has a great mix of rock and ballads and is definitely Edgar's best. It'may be a little dated, but for those who were there when it came out, it's great! WHY is it in DTS so that I can't play it in my car or transfer it to my iPod or ANYTHING!?!?
Is the DTS the imported version, or is there another?
