This is the best movie ever made I have never seen anything so inspiring in my life other than this movie.

We were at the premiere of the movie and it was done so well. Jasons story is as much about his music, loving family, and how they have dealt with adversity. You will laugh alot and shed a few tears as well. There is no end to this movie as Jason is alive and well kicking ALS's ass everyday...he is far from writing the final chapter. You will be inspired to live your life a little different after watching this. Appreciate life everyday, deal with adversity, and surround yourself with people who love you. Brilliant movie put together in almost a timeline..baby to adult. BUY IT AND SUPPORT JASON!

I have no words, got the DVD today, and it was a really profound experience to watch it. I have noted every detail, and found new inspiration in this small and often disappointing life. I am going to commit myself to music and to working harder than I ever did, with more discipline than ever, because I know that Jason would say 'dude, you can do all that, DO IT, put your ass in gear and be grateful that you can carry your butt around and play your instruments.'.
I am also incredibly honored to have my name appear in the credits ( I made a small contribution).

Today I have learned many things. I have known about Jason for 22 years and he still inspires me in many ways. Thank you Jason and your wonderful parents and all the people who made it happen for this really meaningful film. This is to me a lot more than an inspiring dvd.

Dont even think twice, buy this dvd and even buy a few copies to give away. It will teach you a lot, and if you, like Jason and me, are a musician or an artist, it's absolutely essential viewing. It will motivate you to work harder, and to look at your own problems with more perspective. You will learn to be more grateful about what you have, even if you think, like me, that you don't have much to start with. I find hard sometimes even to smile when I am around people, and often I don't feel at all good about life in general. But in this film I have seen Jason smiling and even telling funny jokes. If he can do this, I most definitely have to make a much bigger effort. I will always remember what I have seen in this film. The man still inspires me today as he did 22 years ago when I was starting to learn play guitar and heard the magical introduction of 'Altitudes'.

The movie is a father son story...a family story. A young man with so much talent and raw inspiration that his creative spirit could not be silenced by a disease that took away his ability to move his body. With his mind intact he produces music , records , writes music ,instructional videos, an inspiration to countless Guitarists world wide...this is the kind of film that pumps you up and shows you the impossible is possible. It is one of the greatest documentaries I ever seen..Period. It is a movie you can watch over and over it is that good.

I've followed Jason Becker since the Shrapnel records days. Being close in age and trying to learn to play guitar (not very successfully!), Jason was a guy I loved to listen to and was inspired to try to get my chops somewhere within his galaxy. Although sad to hear that Cacophony was breaking up, I was more excited that both Jason and Marty (Friedman, another amazing guitarist) were moving on to bigger gigs (David Lee Roth and Megadeth, respectively) and I would get all this new music from these guys. Unfortunately, I was heartbroken when I read shortly after he got the Roth gig about Jason's illness. I kept thinking how unfair that such talent was getting stifled and such a seemingly nice guy was having his life cut short when he should be gathering adulation as one of the greatest guitarists ever. I've followed Jason over the years, reading every article I could find and doing my best to keep track of how things were going with him. I was so happy to hear about this documentary that will finally bring his story out and hopefully bring more attention to what a tremendously gifted musician he is. This doc captures all the awesome of his early guitar work, his big break and the heartache of his illness, but also shows his determination to keep living, keep making music and how much his friends and especially his family love and care for him. If you love guitar, if you love wonderful stories about the triumph of the human spirit in the face of tremendous adversity, pick this up. I guarantee that you too will become a Jason Becker fan. :)

I admit....I forgot about Jason. Yes, I loved his work in the 80's when the neo classical guitar slinger was king. But then I grew tired of the scene. That didn't mean that I no longer respected the skill and virtuosity....It just meant that too many guitar gods were doing the same thing so I grew bored.

That said, I had lost track of Jason. I heard he was sick, but I never investigated. The only reason he came back into my thoughts was when I saw him in another documentary about someone in the yoga "chanting" community....and there Jason was. I was taken aback. A measure of guilt on my part because I thought Jason had died.

I then heard of his documentary and rushed out to purchase it. The movie was intelligently made with emotion, thought and insight about the amazing person he is and about the loving people who support him everyday. The movie is made in such a way where you don't pity him, but you admire his inner strength and how NOTHING stops him from pursuing his passion....music.

Buy the movie...the proceeds go towards Jason's medical bills....support this beautiful soul!
