5.0 out of 5 stars Go, Go, Go, Jason!
It's an odd concept that a singer's third album would be a greatest hits collection. Odd unless of course that singer is Jason Donovan. This album features his 12 hit singles and the new track, a remake of the Hank Snow song "Fool Such As I" (a hit for Elvis Presley in the late 50's). 3.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, so it's bubblegum pop - what's your point?
Stock, Aikeman, Waterman really should do better than to foist their horrible old Bobby Sherman and David Cassidy leftovers on this truly talented singer. While not all the songs are completely annoying, most of them are fodder for the under 12 years old crowd - but do they know who Jason Donovan is? When given really good material that he can work with, Donovan...

Though many of these tracks were featured on his first two LP's, this collection contains the single-only songs "R.S.V.P." and the remake of the Turtles big hit "Happy Together". As far as a greatest hits package goes, this is definitely worth getting. I would, however, have loved to have seen some Jason b-sides included as well. Songs like "Wrap My Arms Around You", "She's In Love With You" and "You Can Depend On Me" could have worked well in this collection. This album is a must for anyone who likes Jason's music, or a good place to start for an introduction.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jason Donovan - Some Great Hits, January 1, 2004

Jason Donovan never made it big here in the States, but for what reason, I don't know. Produced by the same hit makers that made names for Rick Astley, Kylie, Bananarama, etc., Jason's hits are just as catchy and fun, even if they're not as familiar to US listeners. You'll find yourself addicted, I guarantee.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jason - the Glory Years, June 24, 2002

This review is from: Jason Donovan - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Like his female counterpart Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan was a regular on the very popular Australian TV soap "Neighbours." He hooked up with British producers Stock-Aitken-Waterman for a singing career which exploded with 1989's "Ten Good Reasons," the best-selling album in the UK that year. But while Kylie kept on racking up hits, Jason struggled to stay afloat, and by the mid-1990s, his music career was all but washed-up. This hits collection, however, compiles Jason's hits during his brief glory years, along with a couple new tracks. To be sure, Jason's not a very good singer, but the singles on this album are classic SAW. "Too Many Broken Hearts," "Everyday," the holiday single "When You Come Back to Me" and "RSVP" are all great reminders of the years when Stock-Aitken-Waterman ruled the charts in England. While Jason could probably never regain the chart supremacy he once enjoyed, this collection comes recommended as a guilty pleasure for any admirer in pop.

While not all the songs are completely annoying, most of them are fodder for the under 12 years old crowd - but do they know who Jason Donovan is? When given really good material that he can work with, Donovan delivers. He's got a really great voice which should be put to the test on much better material.

Hi,

I got the shipment of the music CD "Greatest hits of Jason Donovan". The music is great! but the packaging is appalling. The case was broekn, the CD would not snugly fit into the CD case (it actually broke!!). I am not sure whom to blame. but better packaging techniques need to be adopted. Still the CD is mine and i do nt intend returning the same. I have decided to get a new CD case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get a load of this cat!, January 31, 2005
This review is from: Jason Donovan - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I'm a huge J Dons fan and most guys are, but I have to agree with the earlier reviewers, where in the heck are the b sides? Jason Donovan is the picture of stardom and reminds me of a young Wink Martindale, pre Tic Tac Dough. He looks like the kind of guy you would want your son to be if you're son were the prettiest boy on the planet. Donavan is a triple threat, he can sing, dance and bowl. His music is totally great to bowl to. I'm a very good bowler, OK, I'm an incredible bowler. I make the mix cds for Thrashcup lanes in West Plattsmouth and there isn't a mix lacking in J Donovan. He gets the alley at a fever pitch to where you can taste it. My team, the Bowling Syndicate, took on Fluffywads last week for the fall/winter championship. JD is on the soundsystem and we probably have 23k in the stands. I get us off to a strong start by going turkey out of the box. J Abs throws a 284 while getting 9 phone numbers from bowling groupies. We could have thrown out 2 guys with no arms and won because the two of us are that good. I just wish teams would quit frontin on us. If you are at the alley, throw on some Jason Donovan and the party will be on.

This is actually a quite old album from like 1987. Not sure why they compile it into a CD in 1991. "Especially For You" with Kylie Minogue was really REALLY popular in Australia, Europe, and in Asia, except the U.S. (as usual). Album is mediocre; 1 of those albums in which all the songs sound alike..... Appealed more to teenages of the 80s.
