PURELY SYNTHETIC,
By Annie Appleseed "A.A" (everywhere) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Jason Pure Beauty Oil, Vitamin E Oil 32,000 I.U., 1 oz. (Misc.)
After purchasing this, I realized that the advertised Natural Ingredients......of JASON Naturals Pure Vitamin E Oil, is in fact, purely synthetic!
& Natural Vitamin E is best for your skin, without a doubt. The culprit- JASON- once small, has been merged as part of Hain Celestial Group, and the original intent of the products has been rearranged by money hungry decision makers. Hain Celestial offered their condolences to me, by offering me coupons for more of their products. They explained to me, that "It has always been our policy to use raw materials of natural origin in our products. We put emphasis on both safety and performance. When effective natural functional ingredients are unavailable, then to satisfy our customer's needs we reluctantly use synthetic ingredients with a plan to look for a replacement of natural origin. As per policy, whenever any Natural alternative with similar performance is available, we will definitely revise our formulas using natural substitutes. " Natural Vitamin E oil, unavailable? Vitamin E oil is found in a vasta array of vegetables & grains, one of the highest being in the Wheat Germ (the part of the Wheat grain that is chopped off when refining grains into White flour.) JASON even goes as far as to advertise a plant with an uncanny resemblance to Wheat grain, peacefully growing out of the side of the bottle. The truth, is that it is simply cheaper, to manufacturer synthetic ingredients, and sell it for high prices on the market, as if it was- Natural. Considering that Hain Celestial one of the leading organic/natural food corporations in the US, this definitley has me questioning their general ethics, and how often they are staying true to their claims advertised on food & beauty products. HCG includes: ArrowHead Mills Garden of Eatin' Ethnic Gourmet Health Valley Earth's Best Spectrum Naturals Terra Chips Westbrae Naturals Freebird Avalon Natural Products JASON Natural Cosmetics Queen Helene Shaman Earthly Organics Zia Natural Skincare along with many more: [...] This practice is highly unethical, and disappointing for the thousands of us that practice choosing & supporting what we feel are healthy alternatives for our bodies. Perhaps this is a loop hole in the system that HCG is able to pass thru. If this is the case, I urge everyone to contact the Better Business Bureau in your area, to show support for positive change, and to express that there needs to be Quality Control Standards enforced on these products & their claims. Hain Celestial's biggest investor is Wellington Management, whose primary investors include Exxon Mobil, Pfizer, Alcoa, Gillette, Pepsi, McDonald's, and Wal-Mart. Funny that by supporting Organics, you still may be supporting such destructive practices. It is a nice enough claim that, " At JASON it is our mission to make the best and most effective natural products in the marketplace. And each year, with every new product we create, we continue to hold ourselves to that standard. Our unique formulations are infused with botanicals, plants, roots, herbs, proteins, vitamins and minerals, all from the earth. It has always been our belief that our beautiful planet gives us everything we need." so Lovely, indeed :)

My parents used to sell vitamins and my dad has been taking Vitamin E for what seems like my entire lifetime. When I accidentally spilled a bowl of hot jello on my stomach as a child, I was worried I would have a lovely scar for life. Fortunately our local drug store in Africa sold a Vitamin E soaked gauze pad that you could keep over the burn and it completely healed and there is no scar.
So, I've looked for Vitamin E gauze in America and have not found any. So, I buy the Johnson and Johnson First Aid Gauze pads and if I burn myself on the rare occasion while cooking, I soak the pad with the Jason Vitamin E oil and have noticed great results in a short period of time. The Nexcare Gentle Paper First Aid tape also works well to hold the gauze in place. If you are allergic to band-aids, this is a lifesaver! The JASON 32,000 I.U. Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil has been a favorite for years because it has a little wand attached to the lid which makes application very easy, although you may not want to use the wand directly on the burn, just it allows the oil to drip off nicely onto the site of application. If you want to take healing a step further, try blending this product with lavender oil or the Derma E Calm oil formula. Vitamin E is one of the most potent antioxidant vitamins around and it is essential to skin. It helps with the utilization of oxygen in the tissues, prevents free radical damage and can also act as a natural preservative in cosmetics. Organic and Pure Vitamin E. Well worth the money!!!!!,
This review is from: Jason Pure Beauty Oil, Vitamin E Oil 32,000 I.U., 1 oz. (Misc.)
What a great product. This is the purest form of Vitamin E that I have found at my local health food store. It is very concentrated and thick. Vitamin E has antioxidant properties. Vitamin E is supposed to accelerate healing. So if you ever got a paper cut or a mild burn, some sources say that vitamin E may heal it faster. This product also works good as a moisturizer. This is another awesome product by Jason.

Not natural!,
This review is from: Jason Pure Beauty Oil, Vitamin E Oil 32,000 I.U., 1 oz. (Misc.)
I purchased this thinking it was an all-natural product. The only ingredient listed is Tocopheryl. However, I've discovered that its made from a synthetic form of Vitamin E. I will not be repurchasing this. The label should be clear and straightforward.
I'd appreciate it if someone pointed me in the direction of natural vitamin e oil. Its better for you and more effective than the synthetic version. From what I can see all of the vitamin e oils listed on Amazon are synthetic. Natural vitamin e oil has the following ingredient. Natural = tocopherol tocopheryl= synthetic

It's like rubbing honey all over you, no joke! Then it stays like that and does not absorb. Garbage.

My complaint with this product is unrelated to its claims about being "natural" etc. My husband and I were both advised by our artists when we got new tattoos to use vitamin E oil on parts that weren't healing as well as others and this was the only thing I could find at the store. It's really thick and seemed to be working well at first, but within a couple days of use, BOTH OF US got little pimples all over our skin where we were using it. My husband has no problems with his skin whatsoever to the point that he never even washes his face and he has clear skin. I'm more on the acne prone side. He had less of an issue than me but I got DOZENS of small pimples all over my arm using this. And I have NEVER had ANY breakouts on my arms in my entire life - not even as a teenager. I know for a fact that it's because of this product as both of us have other tattoos and different skin care regimens - with only this in common for the last few days.
This is going STRAIGHT to the trash! :(

i have noticed that jason has been changing their ingredients over the last couple of years in many of their products, particularly their e based creams. the 25,000 IU cream has been modified drastically and they have lost my business. i question their intentions? the ingredients are cheaper and more alcohol based with acids too that dries the skin!?!?

We've all heard about how good Vitamin E is for your skin. I've taken it in capsule form with little improvement to my complexion. But it seems that applying this oil directly to the skin improves its texture and color. I'll cite a few of my personal examples.
I do a lot of baking, and inevitably burn my hands a few times a year. In 2008, I acquired an ugly burn on the back of my right hand, which never lightened. It was purple up until about two months ago, when I started putting Vitamin E oil on it. It's since lightened to a pale tan color and its texture is that of normal skin. Last month, I burned my right index finger and immediately put vitamin E oil on the burn, then covered it with a gauze pad. The oven was 450 F when I got burned, and I was sure that I would have a nasty scar. I was incorrect. There was no scarring whatsoever and the burn healed in just a few days. I credit the Vitamin E oil because I missed a tiny portion of the burn when applying the oil, and it did not heal as quickly.
