Oh My God!,

This review is from: Java 1.1 Certification Training Guide (Hardcover)
I just spent two days working through the first five chapters of the book. At first, the typos were amusing, but after a while, they became extremely frustrating and tedious. I must admit, I learned a lot cross-checking the gargage that he was dishing out. I can not believe that New Riders wouldn't publish an errata sheet for this book. It's a published rough draft that was never was never seen by a technical editor--an absolute embarrassment for New Riders and Cary Jardin. I blame New Riders and will avoid their publications.I guess I've gotta shop for another book, now. You should, too.

The best book I have ever read, including the Bible,
By Zorkon Zelibiewski (Krakow, Poland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Java 1.1 Certification Training Guide (Hardcover)
Ladies and gentlemen, Never in the course of history has someone contributed in such a significant manner to the furthering of mankind. Mr. Jardin has outdone even Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in thrusting himself into the limelight as a leader of all humanity. With a clever combination of technical "boo-boos" interspersed with a collage of typographical errors, Mr. Jardin has kept apace with if not surpassed such literary and scientific talents as Hawthorne, Ibsen, Arthur C. Clarke, Steven Hawking and Snoop Doggy Dog. Java is truly the world's language; "C.J." has found new and exciting interpretations into not only the Java programming language but also the English "speaking" language. - Zorkon

The Most Expensive Firelog I Ever Bought,
By A Customer
This review is from: Java 1.1 Certification Training Guide (Hardcover)
I'll skip over the obvious problems that I found in this book, only a fraction of which are listed below, and simply let everyone know that I was forced to burn it. It was rightly settling to know that I recovered at least some of the cost of this inexcusable monstrosity on my heating bill. As far as the rest, if I ever meet Cary Jardin, I really look forward to introducing him to some full-blown Australian rugby sometime...
