Great presentation, not so great code,

Java Developer's Guide offers a great presentation of Java programming techniques, however some of the examples don't really work getting you into infinite loops or compile errors.

This book spends too much time on command line applications, and not enough time on awt or applet examples. The meaty subjects (e.g. threads) get only a cursory examination. The example source in the book is hard to read; comments would have been helpful. |
