5.0 out of 5 stars Different but GREAT!
The vocals are not what I expected (40-50's era black American sound), but when I got over it I really love them! This is truly a nice and special artistic rendition of old songs, What good it will be if everybody would sing the song the same way? Uncreatively boring, that's it would be. I do recommend this refreshing recording to anyone!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very good, I'm afraid!
Not the original line up, and Boy does it show! I bought this album for the track "(Kiss me once..)It's been a long, long time" and even this song has been spoilt. Most of the songs sound "false" - almost as though someone is doing a poor Karaoke version of them. Sorry boys, but PLEASE don't kid yourselves. The Ink Spots? ... I think not!

1.0 out of 5 stars Stink Pots, May 27, 2010

This DELTA/LASERLIGHT disc had a heckuva price on it, so I stopped to sample it even though I know this label is notorious for issuing late-career rehashes. And that's what's here, naturally.

Just knew trouble lay ahead when the sound bite of Track #1 ("I Love You Truly") had an instrumental break rather than voices. Sure enough, the very next selection verified my suspicions. The Ink Spots, or however many were still alive by the time these records were cut, are clearly in their dodderage on these sessions. The sparkle of their early-30s sides has long ago faded. Backing musicians aren't very inspiring either (and that's being kind!).

Check out "You Always Hurt the One You Love" and you'll hear all you'll need to know to make an informed NON-buying decision. What we have on this forgettable DELTA offering is the Ink BLOTS, alas.

NOT recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ink Spots Live On!!!, May 5, 2004

While it may be true that Bill Kenny is the best known lead singer of The Ink Spots, he was not the original lead singer, nor was he one of the founding members of the band. The band changed members a number of times during the 30's and 40's, and has continued to do so right into the new millenium. Throughout the years that Bill Kenny served as lead vocalist, he still shared the vocal spotlight, giving the band more versatility. And today, now that Bill, "Deek", "Hoppy" and all of the early Ink Spots band members have gone on to play in that big dance hall in the sky, who says that their spirit cannot live on down here, and that in the tradition of the early days, we cannot still have with us The Ink Spots, who are as TRUE today to the magic and to the music as ANY formation or incarnation of The Ink Spots!

Do not buy this CD if hearing anything but Bill Kenny's vocals will disappoint you. But BUY THIS CD for the pure magic which IS The Ink Spots. The talented guys on this CD certainly DO keep the legend alive, and in every sense of the name, they ARE The Ink Spots and they bring with them all of the joy that ANY Ink Spots recording does. GO! INK SPOTS! GO! MAY YOU LIVE ON FOREVER!
