Very good start to Java programming,
By criess@sportsline.com (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Java Multimedia Cyber Classroom: For Windows 95 and Windows NT (Paperback)
This book is the best beginning book on Java that I've seen. There is a second edition out that covers the new event model. I wish more advanced concepts such as beans (and other 1.1 concepts) were covered in either this or the 2nd edition. All in all, a very good basic book -- this is the book I recommend to people just starting out.

The future is here!,
By Stephen W. Jackson (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Complete Java Training Course: The Ultimate Cyber Classroom (Audio CD)
The book is excellent, but the Cyber Classroom pushes it to the next level. Surely this is the future of instruction! I am a physicist who is switching to a career in programming and I have seen teaching at its worse and driest. The Cyber Classroom is a breath of fresh air.
