5.0 out of 5 stars Programming for the non-programmer, March 18, 2006
By
This review is from: Javascript (Paperback)
Of the four JavaScript books I have bought this is the only
one that gives a gentle introduction to programming for the
non-programmer, the others seem to assume knowledge of C++,
Java or the like. Although way out of date, written for
JavaScript 1.1 as found in Netscape 3.0, it teaches the basic
language well with lots of examples. This was one of those rare
books which gave me some those "Aha! So that's how it works"
moments. I would recommend the O'Reilly JavaScript book by
Danny Goodman as a good companion to this one. One note: the
included CD-ROM doesn't seem to be coordinated to the book.

2.0 out of 5 stars One of the worst books about computer languajes in general, April 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Javascript (Paperback)
Im sorry to tell that the book has no continuity in its examples, makin reference to programs that doesnt even exist in the cd rom, it just cover the must important subjects in a superficial way, leaving the user on his own most of times. Some of the cd rom examples doesnt work at all... I cant recomend this book, is just a lost of time and money.
