I have used this product primarially for charging my ipod video while traveling. So far it seems to work very well. It will charge my ipod up to four times before I need to recharge the battery pack itself. The only thing that I didn't like about the charger is that it didn't come with any form of instructions. It's pretty straight forward, but I think that I need to have my ipod playing in order for it to continue charging. I'm not sure if this is the case, but I haven't had a whole lot of time to experiment with it yet, and there are no instructions telling me if this is correct. Overall I like the product and I would buy it again.

Pros: compact, relatively cheap. Charges off of USB connection. Needs laptop/ or ac adapter w/ usb jack when traveling.

Cons: no battery charge indicator.

I was looking for a spare battery that would work with my iPod Nano, iPod, Shuffle and motorolla cell phone. The battery works great except for the Shuffle. Overall I'm pleased.

It worked. I used it in the car, in a plane, and its pretty easy to figure out how to work, so 4 stars. =)

This is a light and easy to use USB battery pack that effortless powers my Sony PSP, a USB reading light, or USB charged/powered cell phone. If you're thinking of using it for the iPod Touch or iPhone you might think twice. My unit will not charge either the iPhone, iPhone 3Gs, or the iPod Touch. If you want to charge/power these devices you migh consider buying an IMP500 (use "imp500" as a search term for All Departments on Amazon and you'll find the correct link) which does power the "Touch" and iPhone 3Gs (at least in my hands).

This is an "ok" USB battery. I have had it for over a year now and it still works just fine. I only use it once a month or so, but when I need it, I am very happy to have it.

I have two problems with this device that drag it down to two stars;

1) The case is starting to split a bit along the edge. It has been that way for a while, and not getting worse, but it does detract from the product. If that had not happened I would have given it three stars.

2) There is no gauge of the amount of battery power left in the device. This is an issue for many external batteries. Without a gauge you never really know if you have an extra charge with you or not. I just charge it up before I go somewhere, but it would be nice to be able to check.

Between the lack of a gauge, and the crack in the side, I give this two stars. While it is perfectly functional, it could be a lot better.

I used this battery for 3 weeks to charge my psp (exclusively--I left the psp ac adapter at home) while traveling. I wish it had a charge indicator. That is the only reason I don't rate it 5 stars.

Charges every thing that normally charges from USB except devices that need a software installed on the PC to charge like Sony Ericsson phones .

THIS BACKUP BATTERY PACK IS GREAT FOR CAMERAS AND CELL PHONES THAT HAVE BATTERIES THAT RUN DOWN WHILE TRAVELING OR AWAY FROM A PLACE TO CHARGE THOSE BATTERIES. THIS DEVICE USES THE STANDARD USB INTERFACE FOR CHARGING AND THE MINI USB INTERFACE TO PLUG DIRECTLY INTO THE DEVICE WHICH NEEDS CHARGING OR FRESH BATTERY POWER.
IT WORKS GREAT FOR ME AS I HAVE SEVERAL CAMERAS WHICH USE THE LITHIUM BATTERIES WHICH ALWAYS SEEM TO NEED CHARGING WHEN AWAY FROM A CHARGING SOURCE.

I purchased this item thinking I would be able to use my iPod's wall charger to charge the external battery. WRONG! The cable included only works with a USB charging device (ie. computer, some iPod chargers, the special JAVOedge charger that does not come included with the battery). I ended up having to purchase another iPod charger with a USB port as I wasn't planning on taking my hefty laptop to Europe just to change my new external battery. If you already have a USB wall charger, or you're planning on charging the item just from your computer, it will work for you. Also, be aware that the the charge time for the battery is SIX hours (as listed on JAVOedge's website). The item did not come with any sort of instruction manual for charging or usage, and I had to look up product information on the company's website. I was planning on returning the item all together, but JAVOedge's return policy is so horrible that I decided to just keep it and buy the USB wall charger from a different company just so I didn't have to pay the extra shipping fee to send the battery back to the company. I would recommend going with a different product if for no other reason then to not have to deal with this company!
