5.0 out of 5 stars "A man may see how this world goes with no eyes. See with thine ears" (King Lear, Act IV, Scene 6), February 25, 2007
This review is from: Jaw Jabberin' with Shakespeare: King Lear (Audio CD)
From the inspired mind of one of the premiere actors of our time comes an imaginative and hilarious new telling of a tale for ALL TIME. Through his brilliant use of fractured grammer and poetic fancy, McCallum gives us an offbeat comic take on Shakespeare's classic tale, KING LEAR. Both entertaining and educational, it is the most humorous take-off on a Shakespeare classic you will ever hear.

An actor, director and writer, Sandy McCallum has spent a lifetime in the theatre with such companies as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Alliance Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Tyrone Guthrie Theatre and the Old Globe.

His wit, wisdom and brilliance reminds us all: "...we that are young will never see so much, nor live so long."

If you want to understand Shakespeare in a different, easy, fun and witty way, then you must try Sandy McCallum's version of Lear. It is true to the original version and you will enjoy Shakespeare like you thought you never could. He cuts to the chase and you laugh the entire time. The bonus is, you get the whole classic works in less than an hour. And, it makes sense. Try it...You'll like it! Thank you Mr.McCallum for brightening my day!

Shakespeare is quite arguably the greatest writer to have ever lived. His characters and imagery, the simplicity and complexity of storyline, are unmatched. For anyone interested in seeing deep inside one of his greatest works, the search is over. This is IT! Mr. McCallum has captured 'King Lear' with a completely unique take. Humor - Wit - A clear modern vision. Sandy McCallum.... Thank you! I LOVE THIS CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
