(N.B. This review has nothing to do with the functioning of the product, but with the poor description from Amazon.)

I agree with the other reviewer. I did see that this was advertised as "bulk packaged", but I assumed it was new and complete, just without the fancy oyster-type plastic package. "Great," I said to myself, "no horrible plastic box."

What I received was a small dingy ziploc bag containing the Jawbone 2, a smudged power cord & charger, and a wrinkled sheet of horribly photocopied instructions. It appeared to have been used before, and not cleaned up very well, as evidenced by sticky black smudges on the USB cable and lots of lint clinging to the rubber earpiece. Also, none of the accoutrements that come with a "new" Jawbone 2 were included: extra ear hooks, extra in-ear pieces, etc.

Nowhere in the product description does it say "Brand new" or similar wording, but it also doesn't say "used and crappily packaged" either. For the extra $10-15, get the retail box version. I did, after I returned this one.

I am in complete agreement with the previous reviewers. My husband asked what I wanted for Christmas. I wanted a new Jawbone 2 (we both have the originals, but wanted the new style). My husband and I both disliked the unnecessary plastic and excess packaging that came with the original Jawbones, so when I saw that Amazon had the "bulk packaged" Jawbone 2 at a great price, I sent him the link to it and told him it was the one I wanted.

The Jawbone itself is fantastic. Amazon's product description, however, is not. In fact, it is blatantly misleading.

The Jawbone 2 is supposed to come with two sizes (medium and large) of leather ear loops and two sizes (medium and large) of the "slim" ear loops. It is also supposed to come with three sizes (small, medium, large) of earbuds. The medium earbud and medium leather ear loop should be prefitted onto the Jawbone 2.

What we received was a Jawbone 2 (God only knows if it's new or used) with ONE earbud (size unknown because there is nothing for comparison) and one leather ear loop (size LARGE - size is marked on it). The USB (charging) cable has black grease all over one side of it (as if someone dropped it on the floor of a very dirty garage), and the AC part of the charger has little itty bitty scratches all over it.

The large ear loop is too big for me, so the dang thing slips right out of my ear. So, now I'm going to order a retail packaged Jawbone 2. < sigh > Sorry, Mother Earth, I am forced to purchase some extra trash.

This item is not as advertised. As the other reviewers have stated, we expected a complete, new Jawbone 2 without all the fancy retail packaging. Instead I received only part of what I paid for. A jawbone, a single earloop, a single earbud, and a cosmetically damaged AC Adapter. Buy the full version! And I hope you are reading these reviews instead of getting screwed like me.

I actually made it a point to call Amazon before I ordered. I asked "Is this item new?" and "Is this the same exact thing as the retail package without the plastic?" Amazon answered "Yes." to both questions. I can't confirm the "new" status of the product, but I can definitely tell you it is not the exact same thing.

I ordered (2) thinking that saving $20-$30 was worth ditching the plastic.
Wrong. Spend the extra money and get what you are expecting.

I'm pretty disappointed considering these are sold by Amazon directly and not Joe's Basement Refurbished Electronics. (Yes, that's a fake store name. If not...sorry Joe. No offense.)

Replacement of this product with what I thought I was getting would have been nice, but I guess that's expecting a little too much customer service for today's world. I had to return and re-purchase at the higher price. Booooo Amazon.

Improve your product description ASAP.

The jawbone 2 works great with my Palm Treo 750, but leaves much to be desired with the iphone. This is the second one that the good people at Amazon have sent me and neither worked well with my wife's iphone. Lost phrases and high pitched tinny-ness at times.
I can definitely recommend it for the Treo. It's a great headset. But don't get the "bulk-pkg." You only get 1 ear stopper and 1 ear loop. Pay the extra for ALL the options.

The headset has only ONE earbud and ONE earloop. If this size does not fit your ear you are OUT OF LUCK. The instructions are one poorly done, hard to read photocopy of a black page with white text.

Not happy with packaging. Didn't include extra ear pieces. Battery will not hold a charge

As others have posted .. it appears this is used .. and slightly worn. the clip around the ear is frail and thin .. and after 5-6 trips of using it, it just simply snapped. I unfortuately was away on afew business trips and didn't open the package for 2-3 weeks after I got it .. and it was around day 41 .. it broke .. so now I am stuck with an old, broken ear bud ...

Beware of what and who you buy from... anyone have any suggestion about how to get a refund. it has been about 60 days now since purchasing ..

I bought a Jawbone II from a retail store. I paid full boat for it and got all the optional pieces with it. I used it with my Treo. It was terrific and knocked my socks off with the noise assasin technology. I soon lost it, and did not have enough money to buy it at full price, so I bought it here for about half. It came in the no-frills bulk packaging and it seems to be a refurbed unit. The button to turn off and on the noise assasin stopped working, but the whole thing still works. I feel like I have a run-of-the mill bluetooth headset now - yes it works, and yes I paid half of what a store-bought item would be so I can't complain. But, I am no longer wowwed by it. Also, I have since switched to the Blackberry Storm on Verizon, and the headset sounds terrible compared to how it sounded on my Sprint Treo. I have no idea why...but its either the device or the network.
If you do not want to spend a lot of money, don't care for a refurb, and you don't care about having all the fittings included, this is a good buy. Even if the claims are true that these are brand new units - which may be true - I think these are like the lower grade or "secondary" units that don't pass the Grade A at the facxtory. I would check out the difference in sound quality first by researching some of the boards and chats first for your device and specific carrier.

Arrived quickly. I was surprised to see that it came with an assortment of attachments because a lot of reviews said it did not have the extra ear pieces or the extra loops.

Sound quality seems good, no complaints from others yet.
