This was a much appreciated birthday gift last month. (Many thanks to my wife!) I believed it would be great based on talking with several friends who use various Jawbone models. Even so, I am very impressed. People I talk to using this like the clarity of sound, even when I am in a very noisy environment.

Because I know a number of other people who use Jawbone models, I already knew about the sensor stud near the front that has to be in contact with your cheek for proper noise cancellation operation. When it is placed properly, the noise cancellation is phenomenal. Voice clarity is (I have been told) like standing next to the person in a quiet room. My wife noticed the difference the first time I talked to her using it. During Memorial Day weekend in Washington DC, I was using the phone and the Jawbone Icon to talk to a friend in Florida, and she had little trouble hearing me clearly. What makes that unusual is that I was standing next to a road as the Rolling Thunder motorcycle parade was going by! She could hear that there were motorcycles, of course, but without the noise cancelling she would not have been able to hear my voice at all.

The Icon comes with a wide assortment of arrangements to try for fitting to your ear. Once you find the correct size and style for you, the comfort is tolerable - but I am seriously considering a molded gel from Jabra or a custom house. With a "normal" earbug it would not be much of a problem, but the Jawbone devices have that sensor stud that must stay against your cheek...

This is third Bluetooth earbug I have owned - and it's successors will most likely be Jawbone models. The first was a cheap Motorola model that was not very good, but was purchased only as a personal test, anyway. The second was a Plantronics model that served very well for several years (until it pulled a vanishing act), but was not very usable in windy or noisy environments.

Comes with: seven (7) ear adapters, one loop to go over ear, AC charger, instructions. Users can register on a web site that enables firmware updates over the Internet.

Pro: excellent sound quality for the person you are talking to, when properly fitted. On/Off sliding switch that is close to impossible to actuate accidentally.

Con: Some users may need custom ear inserts. Connector (for charger & computer) is micro-USB, which can be hard to see and use for those of us with eyes more than six decades old. Noise cancellation depends strongly on proper wearing of the device.

Based on my use, I highly recommend the Jawbone Icon models. I am sure that other Jawbone models would be excellent as well.

the sound quality is great, it works right out of the box, and it looks awesome. The earpiece itself is probably smaller than you think; on my computer screen the picture on amazon is BIGGER than life-size. I haven't tried the advanced features yet but I'll post an update when I do.

I really like this earpiece and I am glad that I bought it. I do find that people sometimes have a hard time understanding me, so I will turn it up and then it is too loud in my ear. It does get very loud! However, overall, this is a great product. It has a long charge time, it looks nice and the sound quality compared to other headsets is great.

I have two cell phones, and this syncs with both of them relatively easily. I also like the small size and the interesting gold casing. People occasionally complain that it is hard to hear me, but it seems to be fixed if I place the edge against my jaw. I never really have any trouble hearing the other side, so it is hard for me to know if others are having trouble hearing me.

I really like the Icon, great sound and no sound interference but the main complaint I have, and from what I understand several other people have too, is the ear tips! They were very uncomfortable and wouldn't keep the Icon in my ear even with the plastic over-the-ear clip! I can't tell you how many times it fell out! But I finally found something that works really great and it fits the Icon and in my ear beautifully! Not to mention it's the most comfortable earpiece I've ever worn! It's the silicone ear tips, "StayHear" from Bose! Now the Bose earphone is waaaay too pricey and not as good as the Jawbone, but the ear tips are great! They cost $4.99 for 2 and come in S, M, & L. They are made to fit the right ear only and they can be a little tricky to get on the Jawbone, especially the small size, but once you put it on, it stays on and it keeps the Icon in and right against your jaw! And it's so comfortable that you might forget you have your earpiece on! It's a perfect pairing for a really great earphone!

My wife ran over her old Jawbone backing out of the garage. (I don't think it was on purpose.) The new ICON is a big improvement. Better fit. Easier to use. Same great noise canceling. She is very happy.

Just got this last week and I love it. Easy to set up with my phone (I'm not particularly tech-y, so that was a plus). Crystal-clear sound and the people I call can hear me perfectly. It's even smaller than it looks in the photos.

I've had this over a year now and it still works like magic. Good clear sound, strong connections, easy to answer and hang up calls. The sound is so much better than just using the phone that I wear it even around the house. Very unobtrusive and easy to wear. I sometimes forget I have it in and people ask me why I'm only wearing one earring. I know there are newer models out there, but I have absolutely no reason to want an upgrade or change at this point. Excellent investment.

I wanted an earpiece that didn't look like a man's tie clip or a tool. The entire Icon series is beautiful, and this gold one is perfect for me. The fit is marvelous. With six different buds plus a loop, I don't know how you couldn't find a good fit. The loop is small and doesn't take over your whole ear. And the piece itself perfectly matches any gold jewelry you already have.

As for sound, the quality beats the Plantronics piece I had before. It's at least twice as clear, and the volume is louder and brighter and cleaner. It connects to the computer to charge, but also has a wall charger. I love the audible prompts and the ability to change the voice that is used. It's a super device. I may get the denim or pearl one because it is pretty enough to treat as an accessory. Finally, no big black thing on my head!

I love the jawbone it literally pays for itself over and over again. But it should have more than 1 ear hook. With multiple hooks you save the wear and tear on its connecting joint to the jawbone. Its still the best thats why i've purchased another one after losing my frst because of that ear hook. But I love it still. This model has saved me from losing my IPHONE at LEAST a dozen times.
