I was not very happy that the product I received did not come with all the fittings for around the ear and all the earbud fittings either. It just came with one of each, and therefore does not fit all that well on me. The price was good, but it looks to be like the item was used before, not brand new. The product also has issues with the main button sticking. Other than that it works okay.

NICE SOUND QUALITY,

This is the third Jawbone. Love the excellent noise cancellation, it just cannot be beat (at least none that I know of).
One major FLAW ... the rubber piece over the hearing part keeps falling off. All you need to do is rub it, and it rotates then falls off. I've lost many ear covers. Wish they would just redesign that part of an otherwise excellent product.

Good but fiddly,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the best bluetooth headset I've owned; however, I'm not sure that's saying much.
Good: The clear benefit of this is particular headset is that the person on the other end of the call can hear you even if you have significant background noise. I've done a bit of experimenting calling myself on another phone and it really transmits almost nothing so if you use your phone in loud places this is a real step up from the built in mic (on my phone at least) and other headsets. The downside is that you sound a bit strange on the other end (as if you are in a giant room talking to someone 10 ft away). Work knowing: The speaker is decent. I've found the max volume isn't all that high (again loud environments) but is adequate. The headset is comfortable for about an hour. After that it starts to hurt my ear. This isn't a deal breaker for me but if you plan on wearing it all day the pressure fit ear plug part might not be a great design for you. Bad: It has a strange little proprietary charger. I wish it used a standard micro or mini USB so I could interchange with other devices. I find the prospect of a "custom" charger for each device very annoying at this point. The headset is very fiddly. Although it connected to both my phone and laptop without any problems I've found that the lack of discrete buttons is a problem. The "buttons" are pressed by pushing different parts of the outside shell of the headset. The particular places aren't obvious and I find it awkward to hold the device and hit the buttons (pairing, turning on/off) because the whole thing is a button. When you press the main button you cover up the blinky LED that provides the only feedback from the device. Of course if you ear is doing the holding for you the holding isn't a problem and the LED is irrelevant.

Sounds good, but falls out of my ear,

None of the rubber bits really fit my ear at all. This thing is constantly falling out. I am going to have custom ear molds made for it by Avery Sound. Then it will be pretty close to perfect. My only other complaint would be that while trying to adjust it and hold it on my ear I sometimes accidentally click it and hang up the call.

Great sound, not the best loop,

I really like the Aliph Jawbone Prime. Good sound quality and once I finally got the unit synced to my blackberry, it worked like a charm. The one aspect I don't care for is the 'gels' for your ears. Lots of choices are included with the unit, (6 I believe) but I would prefer not using the loop for over the ear. There are 3 gels that look like a figure 8 which if used are supposed to eliminate the need for using the over the ear loop. They don't work for me. So I have to use one of the two included ear loops to hold it in my ear. Even so I really like this product even with the ear loop. Good sound quality, clear reception and no complaints from people I call. Could make the buttons a little easier to use, but not that difficult to figure out. Overall a very good product.

I have always had a problem with these gizmos as I really think that people look ridiculous and self-important with these things sticking of their ear, mumbling incoherent sentences with a concentrated frown.
However, my wife decided that I should survive late middle-age and that I should preserve my already deteriorating brain by using the precise instrument of my disdain... I have to say, that when she offered me the Jawbone, I was quite impressed as, first of all, it is nice looking; and if I am to join that group of people mentioned above, I might as well draw an admiring eye and look totally "switched". As far as using it, it took about two minutes to figure it out (I'm a bit slow... as I mentioned earlier...) and has been working great ever since. So now, when people see me walking back and forth talking to myself, I occasionally switch back unexpectedly to expose my 'jawboned' ear and take great satisfaction from the look of understanding (or is just relief?) I get when they realise I have stuck one of the coolest Bluetooth gadgets into my ear and I am not about to empty a full semi-automatic weapon magazine into the crowd. So hands-free is the way to go - Hands down!

Alpha Jawbone Prime bluetooth,

I have used this bluetooth for about a month now. I am having trouble keeping it in my ears. I have tried several of the ear pieces to no avail. Other than that I am very happy with the sound quality. I can hear people very well and they say the same for me, even if it is windy outside. I am an advid walker and walk everyday using it when it. Many mornings it is very windy outside and so for that point I am happy with it. I just wish the earpeice was more comfortable to wear. I am not having friends on the other end complaining they can't hear me. I was told that it has a 4 hour talk time and so far I have been able to only have 3 hours of talk time, so that also is a disappointment. If anyone out there has any ideas please let me know. I use to have a HR700 Motorola. That one was alot more comfortable and easier to use but in no way the sound quality. I have called Jawbone and they have been very helpful and friendly. It comes with a earloop but I could not keep that in also so I do not use it.

I had a jawbone...lost it, so purchased this one and it is no where near as good as my first one. It is the EXACT same product, so not sure what that's about. People just can't hear me very well. I was pretty bummed. I loved my original one.

This is a much-praised Bluetooth headset, but I found people complaining about the audio quality when I called them using this headset. It is lightweight, but not that comfortable to wear for extended periods. Activating the various controls is tricky and unreliable.
After trying a wide variety of headsets, I found the best results in all aspects from the Plantronics 510S Bluetooth headset. It is a slightly larger device with an over-the-ear stabilization device, but it is also significantly more comfortable to wear, i.e., you can comfortably wear it all day. In addition the control buttons are easier to activate than those of the Jawbone. |
