Product Description

Editorial Review

Pegs in the Park is a simple children's board game for two to four players that involves counting. Unfold the 18-inch-square game board and an ice cream truck pops up in the middle. Four twisting courses--in yellow, blue, green, and red--are marked by peg holes and lead from start areas at the corners to the Holy Grail in the center. The game pieces are four sturdy 2-inch plastic pegs that are reminiscent of Gumby and feature a smiling face on the top. Players draw cards to see how many spaces their pegs advance or retreat. Variations for making the game easier or more challenging are included with the instructions. No reading is required. --Richard Farr

5.0 out of 5 stars Pegs in the Park Game, June 27, 2000

I was very pleasantly surprised with this game. It has much more educational value than most other pre-school age boargames out there! My son learned to recognize his numbers within 2 weeks of playing this game. (Of course he had to play it every night for a few weeks!) But he could read addresses, prices, phone numbers, everything! I highly recommend this game for kids that are 2 and older! A note for parents: it isn't as boring as some of those other pre-school games either!

4.0 out of 5 stars fun but not for long, April 10, 2003

more fun for adults than other kids games, pegs in the park helps kids learn addresses and phone numbers and some other stuff. very simple to play and some fun for all, i found the pieces help up to kid level abuse, such as throwing, biting etc. the only drawback was that after awhile they lost interest in the game and moved on to other things.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Number Recognition/Counting Game Ever, June 30, 2004

= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Pegs In The Park (Toy)
This game is so great for kids to have fun while they learn their numbers and start their counting skills. The cards have a number on them, and the same "number" of a cute, fun "thing", for instance the #10 is always ice cream cones...the 5 is always ducks. Your child has to count the items on the card to know how many spaces to move. Once they have counted the number of items several times, the recognize the number! My son learned his numbers 1-10 within weeks of receiving this game for his 3rd birthday. The game also "grows" with your child. It has a set of "minus" cards, which you may add to the deck when your child starts learning to subtract. All in all this is a well made game which children love to play, and offers so much more educational value than the typical pre-school games out there! It may cost a little more, but it is well worth it!
