Memories!,
By Hiram Gomez Pardo (Valencia, Venezuela) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (TOP 1000 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Jay & Americans - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Jay & the Americans really shocked the musical stages with "This magic moment" a magnificent ballad filled with a single but sticky melody, that irrupted in a moment in which the soul and the rock were experiencing sudden changes into its evolution.
So, this album is one of the most remarkable documents of the most creative musical decade in North America.

Two great songs, two really, really good ones,

I'd rate Come a little bit closer (which channels El Paso by Marty Robins, also a classic) and Magic Moment (with it's great guitar intro) as all-time great pop songs. Crying and Walkin in the Rain are really, really good. My copies are from "All-Time Greatest Hits, Vol. 1", so I cannot vouch for this particular CD.
