4.0 out of 5 stars Get your groove on!, November 16, 2004

= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: E Jay: Clubworld (Video Game)
Ejay Clubworld is a sick game for the music makers like me. In this game there are different clubs you can go to and each one contains different music genres. They include: Ambient, Acid/Electro, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Drum & Base, House, Trance, and Techno. My personal favorite is Electro because I've made some pretty sweet songs on that one. But all the clubs are good so this game suits any music fan.

An only downside is that you can't make music videos for your songs like you can in other music games. You can only use the video already on there. But anyway, it's still a great music-makin' experience.

B+

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Music maker, glitches in data, no song porting options, September 14, 2006
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: E Jay: Clubworld (Video Game)
PROS: This is by far the best Music making program I've used in a long time, definitely better than Magix Music Maker for the PS2 (I have that as well). The game allows you to switch between various clubs, each with their own brand of music. Hip-Hop, Reggae, Acid/Electro, Ambient, Trance, Techno, House, and Drum n'Bass. There is even a jukebox feature which allows you to combine all of your songs from the various clubs into one single playlist. You can take the individual tracks and paste them into the arranger, then you can decrease the size of each track in either direction. This is especially useful if you don't want the entire track, rather a certain tidbit that catches your ear and you think would go great in a certain part of the song. You can even move the bits and pieces, or even multiple tracks, in very miniscule increments in order to get them into just the right place.

CONS: I only found a few downsides with this game. For some reason, as you play the entire song back, the data in certain parts of the songs seem to skip/jump, or it seems like it speeds up. Another downside is the fact that you can't control the fade of the tracks, thus, you can't make certain tracks fade into the song, or out, you just have to find a way to transition them. It also appears, and I may be wrong, that you cannot change the effects of an indiviual track, it seems, rather, that you can change the effects of an entire line in the arranger. And the final, and biggest drawback I've found is, there is ABSOLUTELY no way to port the songs from the PS2 to other locations, like your computer or to cds. It gets annoying because you can make an absolutely excellent song, yet the only way to show it off to friends is to carry your memory card and the game with you. I mean, it would be awesome if game developers could use the USB port on the PS2 for Flash/Jump drive compatibility. I even tried porting a song to a USB drive and there's no supporting software.

OVERALL: The game is awesome for anyone with the music vision in their head. I definitely recommend purchasing it. Although you may feel limited, even irritated with the lack of porting options, and the apparent glitches in the data.

3.0 out of 5 stars Simply not the best, February 24, 2008
By
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: E Jay: Clubworld (Video Game)
This is maybe a good start for people thats into buying music making video games. But the best? Definately not and definately not better than magix music maker deluce edition. With this one...its just that its so limited to what you can do. You can't change the pitch of a beat or add effects like Hall or Room (like you can in magix music maker) and you cant combine genres of music like techno and trance or anything. A better music making game for people that wanna make advanced music with advanced sounds and the ability to change the pitch, play a beat backwards and other things like that just get music maker deluxe edition and pass up this one
