I love Jay Robb's protein powders. As cheesy as he seems on the packaging, I can assure you these are high quality, consistent products. I have tried both the chocolate & vanilla flavors, and while I like the chocolate better, both are great.

I make the Jamocha shake every morning for breakfast that is in the Jorge Cruise Belly Fat Cure book (page 95)The Belly Fat Cure: Discover the New Carb Swap System and Lose 4 to 9 lbs. Every Week. I use a shot of whipped cream instead of the heavy cream since I usually have that on hand for my son's pancakes. It's great. I feel like I am really drinking the Arby's jamocha shake.

I like that Jay Robb uses stevia to sweeten the powder and not the Splenda we see everywhere.

Great taste, good blending. Love this product.

I have tried most every whey protein available on Amazon and I really thought I had found the best option with the Jay Robb protein, since it is delicious, easily mixed, and also APPEARED to come from grass fed rbgh free cows (per the Amazon description: "Only cold-processed cross-flow microfiltered whey protein isolate is used as the protein source and this material comes from farm-raised, pasture-grazed, grass-fed cows not treated with the synthetic bovine growth hormone rBGH.")

Unfortunately I was casually reading the back of the bag one day after a couple reorders, and I read the following:
"Because rBGH-free whey is primarily obtained from small farms throughout the world, there is only a limited supply. The Jay Robb Corporation secures large quantities abroad each year to meet our growing needs; however, there are times when the world supply runs short. During these periods, we may choose to procure the highest quality domestic whey protein in conjunction with rBGH-free raw materials to produce our world-class whey protein."

Or, in short, the Amazon description about happy cows producing this whey is a sham. Now, if it really was that Jay Robb Corporation only used the non-rBGH-free stuff on rare occasions in small amounts it wouldn't be a huge deal, but the above statement is CLEARLY carefully written to mislead, as are all of the markings on the package which at some point changed from "Made from rBGH-free whey protein!" to "Made WITH rBGH-free whey protein!" without my noticing. This seems more like a corporation looking to squeeze some extra profit out by misleading customers and thus there is probably only as much rBGH-free protein as their lawyers thought constituted "with".

Really disappointing. At this point its a matter of principle. Bye, Jay Robb.

Not only is this the best tasting natural whey, but it is also from grass-fed, non-rgbh/hormone cows. I used to use Nutrition Designer whey, but that is a mixture of whey concentrate plus isolate. Designer Protein uses ion exchange to isolate their whey, which is not as good. (I would put links to explain this but Amazon would remove them.) Furthermore, Next Nutrition Designer Whey uses sucralose and acesulfame k as sweeteners, which are unnatural, man-made chemicals I'd rather not ingest.

Jay Robb mixes well when I use a shaker cup, and certainly mixes well when I use a blender. Dreamsicle is really good - mixed with OJ it tastes like an Orange Julius. In milk, reminds me a little of Fruit Loops. I've also tried the strawberry, which reminds me of the Nestle's strawberry we used to drink as children. I think vanilla is my favorite, though. The Pina Colada is pretty good, too.

If I had to buy some whey and I could not get Jay Robb, I guess I'd go with BioChem. Their powders are created using the same type of technology, taste almost as good and are cheaper. They do have 4 grams of sugar, whereas Jay Robb has none. This is good and bad -- good because BioChem can use less Stevia for a sweetener, and bad because I don't want extra sugar. I don't mind stevia in small quantities - it is safe, natural and does the job, but you can detect it if you are a sensitive taster. I am used to it, though, and it is not very detectable in most of the Jay Robb powders.

The only downside of this brand of whey is that it is very expensive. There are some places online that discount it -- even some merchants here on Amazon, but many do use retail pricing.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT 2 lbs. It is only 24 ounces. This merchant has NOT updated their information. They used to be packaged in 2 lbs, but not anymore. I ordered this from them and sure enough, it was not 2 lbs.

I am into many sports and protein isolate is a necessity to me since no beef or chicken for me. I have been consuming whey protein isolate unflavored by Now Foods for last few years in five and ten pound containers and bags. The price has been going up so I tried to see if there is any product compatible exactly to Now Foods isolate. I mean pure whey protein isolate, no additives, no gum, no sweeteners, no additional anything, nothing more than pure protein, no vanilla, no chocolate, just unflavored pure protein.

Bob's Red Mill sells protein concentrate which is not organic but that is great post workout not before workout. Jay Robb is the worst, They do not have any pictures of their products especially the back of the packaging on their Internet site so I was not even able to read the ingredients or nutritional value and what they claimed on their site is different than what printed on the packaging. Nature's Best, Isopure Natural in 3lb container is the closest I came. I called Nature's Best as well as Now Foods. I read both labels and found out;

1. Now Foods prints on the label Manufactured by NOW FOODS, Made in the U.S.A. and Nature's Best prints Distributed by Nature's Best, Hauppauge, NY,
2. Now Foods prints ingredients Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate (milk) but Nature's Best has the same plus Ion Exchange Whey (Milk) protein Isolate.
3. Jay Robb proteins which are sold at Whole Foods Stores which claims Sourced from grass fed cows not treated with rBGH on their Internet site but no grass fed cows printed on the labeling. Infact it claims sometimes they do not even have any access to rBGH free on the back panel and use regular milk. When I called their offices, no human being answered the phone, instead they put me on hold with some music.
