I gotta tell you this guitar is amazing craftsmanship and quality for 200 bucks.

It's good: it plays well, it sounds good, the finish is nice, the wood looks to be properly cured.

If you have a little time and know-how, this is a great project guitar for intermediate players.

I've owned several Jay Turser products, and I have found that the fit and finish of the guitars is very good. This one is no exception. It looks very nice with no flaws that I can find.

However, the fret ends needed some work, as many were pretty rough--not enough to scratch your fingers, but enough for uncomfortable playing. The neck pickup was pretty muddy, but the bridge pickjup had a good Tele-type 'spanky' sound to it. The neck was true, with a 12" radius and medium jumbo frets. It was a rather thin C-shape; good for some fast playing.

Over all, a very nice guitar that sounded and played very well after some minor tweaking. I will replace the neck pickup and probably the tuning machines eventually, but they are serviceable.

Be prepared to do some adjustments and perhaps some minor repairs on any imported, mail-order electric guitar that you receive. If you keep that in mind, you should be pleased with this instrument.

Let me start by saying I own a couple other overseas made guitars. Ive also spent hundreds of hours at Guitar Center playing many, many styles trying to justify in my head spending big bucks for an MIM or American. I gotta tell you this guitar is amazing craftsmanship and quality for 200 bucks. I truly believe it surpasses many way more expensive guitars. Neck is straight as an arrow. Frets level. Finish beautiful. Volume and tone knobs have that nice solid feel(most imports feel cheap). I WILL be ordering another model soon, either the SG style or Strat. Thank you Jay Turser, whoever is building your guitars is doing a great job. You are making it possible for people of average means to aquire very nice musical instruments.

My friend, Big Nasty, always says services and products come in three forms: fast, good, and cheap, you can pick two.
If its fast and good it won't be cheap. If its good and cheap it won't be fast. If its fast and cheap... chances are it won't be good.
I recently gave away my electric guitar to a friend (it was the right thing to do) and found myself in need of another.
I purchased the Jay Turser Lt Series Jt-lt-rw Electric Guitar, Rosewood sight unseen. It turns out this guitar was good and cheap, which means it was not fast. The delivery was fast however, it showed up only two days after I purchased it.
It's good: it plays well, it sounds good, the finish is nice, the wood looks to be properly cured. Neck was straight.
It's cheap: (guitar + strap + gig bag + straplocks + shipping + tax = all for under $200!)
But it was not fast: I did not get to play it right away because I had to do a little work to it to get it to where I needed it to be to make it work for me. I did have to file down the fret ends due to fret sprout, glued (with very little glue) the string thru eyelets, replace the input jack (by choice but cheap and easy to replace) and set the intonation. I also had to restring the guitar because I play 10's it came with 9's.

NOTE: I gave this guitar 5 stars because I got exactly what I expected. If you are expecting a guitar worth $2000 you should consider buying a guitar that costs $2000. This one costs less than $200 but I feel is worth more than that because the guitar delivers on many levels and requires very little in the way of making it playable.

First of all, I have to say that I am a total gearhead. I have an American Telecaster, a couple of American Strats, a 2 Japanese Teles and 1 Japanese Strat, 3 Mexican Standard Strats, and a Mexican Standard J-Bass.

I was looking for a decent user guitar that I could bring to gigs and not worry about getting dinged up. Well I have to say that this thing is absolutely beautiful. The binding is pristine and it makes my American Fenders look plain.

Out of the box, there was some fret buzz and the intonation needed to be set. After about an hour of tweaking, i got it perfect and it sounds great. The pickups are actually hotter than my Fender Tele pickups and the sound is somewhat darker due to the rosewood..

At first I was expecting to have to swap out the pickups but they actually sound great, even with distortion, since they're a tad hotter than stock Fender pickups and the guitar is darker.

For $143 it's the bargain of the century. It plays just as well as my Mexican Standard Tele but at less than 1/3 the price.

If you're looking for an inexpensive quaility Tele copy, this is the one to get. Buy it now!

I received the Rosewood Tele about an hour ago and was shocked that the the Amazon overpack box didn't have any effort to secure the interior Jay Turser box. The JT box was just flopping around inside the overpack box and had come open during transit. The right tone knob was bent (I straightened it already) and the low E-string tuner got bumped and twisted. I like the guitar and am certain everything is fixable but really...come on make an effort.

I've been playing and buying guitars for a long long time. I consider myself a Fender guy. One Fender guitar that I'd love to own is the Rosewood Telecaster but the price is a little steep. When I stumbled on this Jay Turser version I figured for $200.00 what the heck. I had no expectations of Fender quality. Boy was I surprised. Although darker than the one pictured and with a black headstock, this guitar is well made. The fit and finish is fantastic. No rough frets, nice bridge, the binding is top notch and the pickups and electronics are pretty darn good. It also came with D'Addario XL strings! Two tuners are a little sloppy but again for the price I won't complain just replace them. The neck is perfect for my big mitts. Again this is not a George Harrison rooftop Telecaster but it's definitely worth the price. I have around 20 guitars and find myself gravitating to this one more and more! Check it out....
