I thought this would be a strip quilt. It has you cut up each 6" strip of fabric and 10" piece of fabric separately. Even the white strips. There is a much faster, easier way to make this quilt. I have been sewing and quilting for 26 years and the instructions could have been written better. They were confusing. If you buy the recommendations of fabric, you will have a ton left over. It was as waste! I don't love to have that many scraps. I made the lap size quilt and had more than enough fabric left over from what they told me to buy to make a baby size quilt. My friend who was doing it with me made the king size and had enough for a lap size. I was frustrated that I spent so much money on extra fabric that I did not need. This could have been made with scraps. It should have been described as a quilt you could make from scraps or at least clued you into that in the description of the pattern. I bought the Yummy pattern as well and it is written the same way. Not sure I will buy Jaybird patterns again.

I saw this pattern in a local shop and decided to pick it up for a baby quilt. Like the other reviewer said, there is a faster way to make this quilt... if you want all your blocks to be the same. I prefer a more random scrappy look, so I didn't mind piecing the individual strips. It still stitches up pretty fast.

There was also plenty of left over fabric for me, if I had been making a larger size quilt I am sure it would have been a lot more based on what the other review said... but with the baby size it wasn't enough that I was too irritated about it. But then, I like making scrap projects so I don't mind adding to my scrap bin at all.
