Cross Stitch Safari is filled with wonderful pictures and cross stitch of Africa. If you have ever been or wish to go to Africa, you will be filled with memories unrivaled. I have most cross stitch books on wild life, and have never seen more realistic and picturesque offerings. Included are 25 different pictures both large and small of lions, elephants -- all the big beasts, but also meerkats, egrets, wildebeest, and on and on. As you can probably guess I think this is the best wild animal book available. You won't be disappointed.

Jayne Netley Mayhew's works have to be in the top ten most beautiful cross stitch books available. There are anecdotes about her trips to Africa in addition to color charts and wonderful photos. The finished work will truly be thread art. Also, there are some smaller graphs for those of us that have shorter attention spans like me. I'm going to stitch the lounging leopard queen and the baby crocodile sunning himself on mama's head. (Only mama's eyes are visible above the water as she keeps a sharp eye out for danger to her babies.) Some unusual subjects for cross stitch are wildebeest, rhino, water buffalo and meerkats.
In sum, if you like to cross stitch African animals, this will be your favorite book.

As a collector of safari and jungle animal arts and crafts, this is one of my favorite books. Very realistic and detailed.

This book of hers is her finest. All the designs in this book is for the advanced Cross stitch er. It is a very detailed and a careful study of each subject. Some of the patterns are converted from her paintings.

Very clearly described and fairly easy to follow,(depending on how difficult the design natch!)The sketches add an extra dimension to the work prior to sewing also. Overall,a valuable book to me as my Husband spent many years in Africa as has a friend of ours, so several designs are already earmarked for future use. Value for money so far as I'm concerned.

Nice charts of African wildlife. Large charts tho. If you are looking for something small, this probably won't do. It took a loooong time to get here
