5.0 out of 5 stars West Coast Swing from some Big Band Veterans, September 4, 2000

This review is from: Jazz Goes Dancing / Prom to Prom (Audio CD)
Don't let the title fool you...this isn't rock & roll or r & b or anything else you might think of when you see the words "campus hop". This is a tight group of west coast jazzmen doing a tribute to the music of Harry Warren. The charts are tight and feature lots of interesting harmonies and plenty of room for great solos by Pell (tenor), Jack Sheldon (trumpet) and Bob Enevoldsen (valve trombone). The rhythm section is achored by none other than Mel Lewis. Great stuff, highly recommended and worth the high import price.
