JAZZ FOR LOVERS on the whole is quite lovely-- this is mostly gentle, thoughful music. One exception to the general mood would be "My Romance" by Bill Evans. The song starts out very laid back, but really starts racing midway thru, with heavy emphasis on percussion.

The ten extended-length selections on this St. Clair label CD were recorded between 1980 and '93. Sound quality is excellent. Included are session personnel, as well as location and month/year.

This one is fine late night music. (3½ stars)
