This is a great succinct book that describes the lives of many wonderful jazz artists with some personal narratives from the writer - but some of the content (drugs, rape, prostitution, language . . )is not age appropriate for younger students. It is a great book to use to teach older children about jazz and to maybe begin a discussion about drugs, poverty and racism.Great illustrations! |
