This is one of my favourite jazz CDs and returns to my HiFi on a regular basis. Great recording, outstanding musicianship and swing music. A joy from start to finish. Enjoy

This is an excellent example of Russell's inventive playing. The tracks were recorded in Pee Wee's "middle years" between 1938 and 1946 (or 1944 according to some sources.)Many of the tracks are with the "Condon Mob" of the period, whilst others are in trios or quartets. It's a pity Amazon does not give more information on recording dates and personnel. Of course, these can be ascertained by a diligentInternet search to save my typing the lenghty listing! Anyway, nobody can fail to enjoy this music so buy it today. |
