This review is from: Jazz Piano Vocabulary Volume 4 The Lydian Mode (Paperback)
I purchased the book to have a general review of my favorite Mode and to bypass the profound 'The Lydian Chromatic Concept OF Tonal Organization'. It was a wonderful review and based upon it, I am going to purchase the entire series of Modes written by Roberta Piket. The book gives the musician a thorough understanding of surrounding theory, applicable references, application, and execution of the Mode(s) as well as exercising improvisation of the Mode over scales and chords.

Read every sentence carefully because Roberta is not only a genius in theory, her concise descriptions are deceptively jam-packed with much hidden content that requires a budding musician to contemplate like a philosopher.

A GREAT buy! But be sure to listen to Roberta Piket's piano music on Amazon, Rhapsody, or Napster. That is how I found her theory books.
