This goes back a ways. I was in the Air Force in Japan and one of my barracks mates bought this album. The whole place was listening to this lp for a couple of months. We were amazed that the guys playing were our age. Papa Zimbi was one of our favorites. This all happened before JFK died. Hard to believe.Very fine music indeed.

The Paul Winter Sextet was the first jazz act to be invited to the White House and this cd will tell you why. A truly classic act. I am proud to know Paul Winter and prouder still that my father, Baritone sax player Les Rout, will live on through classic collections like this. A must for any jazz fan.
