5.0 out of 5 stars MY NUMBER ONE JAZZ CD (OUT OF 200 THAT I OWN), May 29, 1999
By A Customer
Recorded May 18, 1959 in Paris. Peterson at his peak. He combines with Ray Brown on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums to deliver a stunning recording. All players are in the groove; the timing between players is incredible, leading to a brilliant recording. THE TOP JAZZ RECORDING OUT OF 200 JAZZ CDS I OWN. Absolutely flawless. You will not be dissapointed. Sinatra is probably listening to it in heaven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, August 1, 1999

Although Peterson's piano will never be Sinatra's voice, this is one of the finest jazz albums that I've ever heard. Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Break From Listening To Sinatra :), August 12, 2003
By
Barkley Kern (Alexandria, VA USA) - See all my reviews
If for some reason you ever max out on listening to Sinatra you can put this CD on to take a short break. You won't be disappointed because Mr. Peterson's arrangements are fabulous and the musicianship is spot on.

This disc will have special appeal to Sinatra fans because it's a beautifully crafted tribute to a relatively young Frank (it was recorded in 1959 when Frank was 43), but any jazz lover will know these tunes as well and will appreciate the trio's performances.

Enjoy!
