This is a great compilation of lots of great performers. It's fun to listen with the list of tunes with their artists in hand to see if you recognize each one. Good value with more than normal songs on each of the 2 CD's. I like to hit the shuffle on my player and with these I don't need to - it's already "mixed".

This is one of the best selections of contemporary jazz vocalists I have heard. Once I started listening, I was hooked and could not not stop playing it. It also introduced me to some artists and works I was not familiar with. As a nice bonus, the inside booklet contains not only a little blurb about each performer but also an image of the CD from which the song is from, making it easy to get more of the music you like.

This ought to be a great set of CD's -- good music, good artists -- and yet over a couple of listenings my wife and I both had the same reaction: boring. We are normally fans of any number of the performers (Norah Jones, Medeleine Peyroux, Diana Krall), but even their tracks seemed lifeless. I don't know if the selections was faulty (were these rejected tracks?) or if there was something about the engineering that produced a flat, lifeless effect. In any event, we found it disappointing.
