5.0 out of 5 stars Great Compilation, September 8, 2002
By
This review is from: Jazz for When You're Alone (Audio CD)
It's nice to be able to pick up a cd with a really good jazz selection for that relaxed mood. Even better, to pick one up where I don't already have several of the selections on other cds.

The producer of this cd has shown excellent taste both in musical and artist selection.

My favorite cuts are "That's All There Is To Love" with Donald Byrd sounding very much like Miles Davis, "Lost", and "You Don't Know What Love Is". "Sunny" and "'Round Midnight" are also very good.

If you like good relaxed jazz or if you like to sample some artists with whom you are not familiar, or a good bunch of standards, you will probably enjoy this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great CD!, February 21, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Jazz for When You're Alone (Audio CD)
I have a been a listener to smoother jazz sounds, like the Rippingtons and David Sanborn, but I wanted to broaden my horizons into more traditional jazz. This CD did just that. It is a great CD for the beginner or long time listener of jazz. Great job 32 Records!

No matter if you are a newcomer to jazz or an old hand, sometimes you need someone else to pick the titles so you can just relax and listen. This is the album for those times! No jazz fan could ever be embarrassed by these top flight performances by big name talent. BUY IT! LOVE IT!

The favorite of my 32 Jazz collection. This CD like most of there collection is the kind of music you put on in the morning and don't realize until you are ready for bed that it is still playing.

A well rounded collection of Easy Listening Jazz that is such a delight to the ears. This doesn't focus on the just 1 (One) main instrument, this features several soloists doing their own thing (On their own recordings), Artists like: Willis Jackson (Tenor Saxophone) & Pat Martino (Guitar), Red Garland (Piano), Houston Person (Tenor Saxophone), Larry Coryall (Guitar), Wallace Roney (Trumpet), Donald Byrd (Flugelhorn), and others! ...I think you kinda got the picture. Some of the Hot Tracks are: "Blue Velvet", "Everything Happens To Me", "Round Midnight", "You Dont know What Love Is", and others! 2 (Two) words comes to mind about this collection....REAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL NICE!!!
