Lost Summer,
By A Customer
This review is from: Jazzmasters 1 (Audio CD)
The overall CD is great, however, "Lost Summer" is the BEST of all the songs. Paul Hardcastle had everyone anticipating the U.S. release of this album. Lost Summer is a relaxing, smooth and rhythmic track that will always remain in your mental music file!

More impeccable musicianship,

The instrumentalist/producer behind '19' and 'Rainforest' came up with a winner in this 1993 set, released originally on the JVC label. The songs are well-polished adult dance music, easily amenable to fans of the 'smooth jazz' format. What separates this piece from the 'muzak jazz' pack are the clean production of Paul Hardcastle (who also shines on keys), the lilting, almost Lisa Lisa-like voice of Helen Rogers, and the soulful sax playing of Gary Barnacle (Level 42, Phil Collins etc). Highlights on this collection are 'Northern Lights' and 'Really Miss Your Love.'

I am satisfied with these songs. Especialy, Paul's songs were often used in Japanese major radio station, such as "J-WAVE".(If people who had a chance to visited Tokyo Japan in early 90's...I guess, some of you listen and heard the name of radio station.) First, I asked some CD stores here in Japan, to get THIS!!! CD. But, already sold out and they couldn't find it. I almost gave up to find this CD...And there was a chance...The "amazon.com". I like all the songs but, when it comes to...What is the best song in this album is the "Lost Summer". It's a instrumental music, it's truely great. ThanX.

The Sound Of Paul Hardcastle,
By
This review is from: Jazzmasters 1 (Audio CD)
The first in his "Jazzmasters" series of albums, Paul Hardcastle's "Jazzmasters I" is simply mindblowing. I just can't get enough of Paul's effortlessly breezy smooth jazz grooves. Deliriously catchy songs & instrumentals are all over this CD, such as "Sound Of Summer," "Blue Days," "Really Miss Your Love," "Heaven," "Lost Summer," "Without Love," and all the rest. Awesome melodies, arrangements, production & performances, as well as dreamy lead vocals by Paul's musical partner, Helen Rogers. What more can I say---Paul Hardcastle's "Jazzmasters I" is absolutely breathtaking.

An excellent debut.,
This review is from: Jazzmasters 1 (Audio CD)
The first chapter in Paul Hardcastle's post-19 career flowers with the debut release of his band The Jazzmaster's Volume 1 release. This CD is outright amazing with beautiful tracks like "Lost Summer", "See You In July" and the cosmic classic "Northern Lights" which lifts the drum loop of Christopher De Burgh's 1986 hit "Lady In Red". This is an awesome album that you must have! I guarantee it!
