This would be a great read aloud story for the storyteller who is expressive and can swing and sway with the jazzmatazz jam!, June 3, 2009
This review is from: Jazzmatazz! (Hardcover)
When the weather gets cold, little critters scoot to the safety and warmth into barns and houses. A mouse saw an opening in the cellar window that was open just a tad and then found his way into the house through a knothole in the floor. As he rushed across the floor he stepped on daddy's feet and ran past baby as mama watched. He ran to the piano seat, jumped up but the baby scooted him away, "but he's got pizzazz . . . he jumps on the keys . . . and starts to play jazz!" Things are going to rock now!
"Doo-dat, diddy-dat,
Diddy-dat, doo!
I plink, plink, plink.
How about you?'
The dog grabs his bones and bowl and plays the drums, the cat plays the fiddle, the bird sings "Tweetily-tweet," and even the fish chimes in. "Doo-dat, diddy-dat, diddy-dat, doo!" Everyone's feet are tapping and the "jazzmatazz jamming" sounds went up the chimney, out the sides of the house and brought crowds to come dance a doo-dat with the little happy family.
This book is so rhythmical and peppy you want to sing, dance and tap your toes the further on you get into the book. The illustrations are vibrant and bring out the excitement of the "jazzmatazz jamming" sounds. This is a book that will be read time and time again. Each time you can make up your own song and rock your way through the pages. This would be a great read aloud story for the storyteller who is expressive and can swing and sway with the jazzmatazz jam!
